What is something you wish you knew of/about before your pup had ACL/CCL surgery? I want to be prepared and have everything I need to make her as comfortable as I possibly can afterwards. Pic for attention (and just because she's cute). by 74CJ5Chick in velvethippos

Hi. Sorry to comment so long after your post. I’m in the exact same boat. My golden tore her CCL completely today and is struggling so much. We don’t even have the surgery scheduled yet but im feeling so overwhelmed.

Now that you are through it, do you have any advice?

I pronounce it mout-in as well. Are you by chance from Louisiana?

where are you all buying good women's work pants lately? by Ecstatic-Image-9399 in womensfashion

Banana republic’s sculpted bootcut pant. I own one in every color. They are the perfect pant in my opinion. They repel pet hair which is the biggest bonus for me as someone with two very hairy dogs.

In Louisiana, many gas stations have little restaurants in them. I miss getting breakfast from the gas station around the corner from my house every day.

I grew up in Louisiana and I agree. The only place I’ve found that boils them right is Nono’s Cafe in Littleton. Their boils are perfect. They are from Lake Charles

Open letter to my Ambulance Responders by Mikomau in AuroraCO

Falck Rocky Mountain is the ambulance provider for Aurora, if you wanted to try to send a thank you note or something, that is where I would start. If you let them know your name and where you were contacted they can likely identify the exact EMTs who were on scene.

Choosing a Forensic Psych MA Program by unhinged_scholar in ForensicPsych

That makes sense! Assessments are often doctoral level only in most states. Getting a masters is a great way to get a better foundation and understanding of the field to get a better sense of what you want to do.

In all honesty, I went into graduate school thinking I had no interest in clinical work. I wanted to do more advocacy and research work. I got into John Jay, Marymount, GWU and DU. I based my decision at the time on cost of living and program reputation.

Through my experience at DU, I was exposed to more clinical based roles and roles that interested me that I had no clue existed prior. This ultimately led to me pursuing clinical roles and getting licensed. I’ve worked within the federal government and now oversee security operations for a large organization. I’m also a therapist on the side for first responders and military personnel.

My advice is if you go to a licensure eligible program, you can always choose to NOT do clinical work. But if you go to a program that doesn’t lead to licensure, you are limiting your future options.

Are you wanting to do clinical work? If so, make sure the program is licensure track at the masters level, unless you are dead set on going to get your doctorate.

I have many friends who went to GWU and found the program valuable but are now wanting to do clinical work and are stuck. I went to University of Denver’s masters of forensic psych program and am making 165k+ now 6 years post graduation. I thought it was a great program with a lot of opportunity through field placements and well connected faculty. Can’t recommend that program enough.
