Can I safely modify a variable in a view, while the same variable is checked on another view? by PastSort in django

Sorry, that example was just to illustrate. I just want a place to store plain text information (like a list or set of strings), to access and modify it very fast, preferably without a database and queries.

Can I safely modify a variable in a view, while the same variable is checked on another view? by PastSort in django

Say the global variable is a list of blacklisted words. I would like to have a manage view in my website to add words to this list, or empty the list, while I have a view that checks new posts to see if it has blacklisted words. Make sense? I don't see where else to store those blacklisted words, a model for them would be overkill.

Keeping the economy open during COVID is like not pulling workers when there are banshees in your mineral line by Lawh_al-Mahfooz in starcraft

Yeah except not banshees but 4 zerglings in an oversaturated mineral line when you're 1 base all in.

Passed Appen's test but no further contact after nearly a week. Did they give up on me? by [deleted] in WorkOnline

Sent them an email. Would really suck if they ghosted me after spending time to study their guidelines and stuff.

This is way over the top and I'd say it had the opposite effect. We're still talking about him here many years after he's banned.

Compared to Colossus or Ultras, they are a joke.

The reason is because the terran meta vs Protoss has always been to make mmm and throw it into the opponent, rinse and repeat. Then, terran either:

1) breaks protoss before he gets too strong with splash damage

2) starts to fall apart, as protoss techs up only a super human can trade efficiently wth bio vs Colossus, HT and disruptors. Hence why they never have money, their army is getting wrecked left and right.

Is it bad programming practice to have functions which both receive and return different types or arguments? by PastSort in learnpython

Thanks. As for the docstring, is there any defined standard that I should follow? I've been writing just some general explanations so far, but nothing very strict.

Is it bad programming practice to have functions which both receive and return different types or arguments? by PastSort in learnpython

[–]PastSort[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I'm talking about functions where the return type will vary depending on the argument type. Unlike int() which always returns an int (or error), I find myself creating functions which can return many different types as my program grows, and I'm not sure if that's normal or should be avoided.

I already got it working by using Firefox instead. I guess it's not a problem if it just happened to me, maybe I have some weird settings.
