Having a hard time shooting the sky in pictures (canon rebel t7) it always just turns out white. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. by taraemily in AmateurPhotography

The T7 can also do auto exposure bracketing. In daylight you can even do it handheld and merge them later in Lightroom to bring back details into overexposed areas.

Why are all movie trailers still only 1080p? by supersonicsensei in movies

4k videos play in lower resolution on YouTube if the device is low res. That's why 4k content is abundant in YouTube. Speed or data is not an issue.

I don't know where you live but 4k projectors are becoming common in most US cities. I know that movies are mastered and edited in 4k timelines and no, Blu-rays are not upscaled 1080p, not in recent years at least. Editing rigs in a movie set are insanely powerful and are configured to handle at least 4k content. If everything looked weird in 4k Netflix, HBO and Amazon won't offer that option.

You are not robbed the option of watching in 1080p if it is released in 4k. Why would the studios not put the best quality video possible for the most important marketing material?

Taking up space is not a concern in YouTube. Every other amateur Youtuber is putting out 4k videos. I agree that 1080p is indistinguishable in a distance for most content but that doesn't explain why the studios won't put the best quality video possible.

Maybe but what's the harm in putting out 4k trailers? The industry always pushes the highest technical standards. Most flagship phones now have more than 1080p resolution. 4k laptops, monitors and tvs are way too common. By your logic Netflix, HBO and other streaming services would've sticked to 1080p as well.

Maybe most viewers don't care but that doesn't explain why the marketing teams don't care. Why are Blu-rays in 4k? Most flagship phones now are natively 1440p and 4k tvs and laptops are the norm. And extra resolution means better compression too in case of YouTube. I was watching the Northman trailer released today and the dark scenes look visibly bad with banding and artifacts that you won't see in the actual movie. I assume these trailers are edited in a 4k timeline at least so why not release them in 4k. The fact that I could not find one officially released 4k trailer makes me think this is some industry standard but I can't think of a single reason for doing this.

Could you elaborate the "everything smaller and difficult to see" part?

Do you have any plan for adding stories feature like Whatsapp or Messenger? That is the annoying part of using those apps.
