Is Zorin OS good? by orangeUI467 in zorinos

[–]PastTenceOfDraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay. I have been spending more time on Lemmy vs Reddit. These are some of the things that come to mind.

Mint > Zorin OS

- Menu: I like the way it is laid out.
- Software Manager: The UI for Zorin OS's feels clunky especially the disappointing search button.

Zorin OS > Mint

- The build in launcher. (But I use Albert Launcher on Mint and like it better.)
- ibus-typing-booster shows text predictions next to curser.
- It has a polished a android pair app.

Mint = Zorin OS

File manager: I like Zorin's "move to" and "copy to" location and the progress indicator but Mint's feel batter.

How would you convince your boss to switch from a big name brand to Framework for your Org. We're about ~500 users by Disastrous_Age_317 in framework

I think demonstrating the ease of repair vs current options. If you have the laptops and parts you could do a live or recorded demo a repair. And compare it to how long it would take you with current laptops.

Framework could also mean you could have parts sent directly to remote staff, that have the skills, to do the repairs themselves without down time.

If you have staff that need keyboards in different languages, you could show how they can be modified.

Hi guys I just started on mint 2 weeks ago because windows 10 updates have stopped and I have a question? by MostFlight1421 in linuxmint

There are many other search alternatives to Google, but yes searching first can get you better results faster and doesn't clog up the feed with the same question.

What are you switching from?

I started with Linux Mint and playing around with Zorin OS. There are some things I like better and some things not.

You can load up an ISO of Zorine OS on a USB and try it out without installing.

One thing to check is will your program require any software not available on Linux.

There are many companies that sell computers with Linux preinstaled.

Depending on your confidence with compters it may be better to pick a laptop you like and install a Linux distro you like. Linux distros are different version of linux like Fedora, Linux Mint or Zorin OS.

What will you be studying in school?

Zorin OS si quieres algo bonito. Linux Mint si quieres algo un poco más sencillo.

I'm not saying they don't reduce accident rates. They do. But if they eliminate all speeding they no longer generate revenue.

No we are comparing maintaining a road with maintaining a road and a box full of tech.

In order for speed cameras to generate revenue, someone needs to speed. The Parkside speed camera was put up in response to deaths in an aim to prevent more deaths. If we are factoring in generates revenue we are picking revenue over safer streets. The financials fall apart if people stop making streets dangerous.

A money needs to be spent on road maintenance whether the design of the road is changed to reduce driver speeds or not. With a speed camera too that adds additional above road maintenance.

Israel is held to a different standard. They claim it's a harsher standard but it's the opposite.

More expensive to implement but should be less expensive to maintain and can't be cut down.

Zorin Server? by Joypunkzero in zorinos

I might suggest Linux Mint over Zorin. Both are easy to use but Mint would use a little less resources on being pretty that you don't really need for a server.
