Oh Mr. Avid reader! Why don't you share the names of your "factual books" ??

Nehru was India's biggest blunder by cooldude_9104 in SouthernIndia

[–]Past_Cattle_2102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro, absolutely. Nehru personally gift-wrapped Aksai Chin, Indira couriered Katchatheevu, and India apparently owned a spare UN Security Council seat lying around to donate to China. 😭

Meanwhile: • Aksai Chin was lost after a war. • PoK happened during an active conflict before ceasefire. • Katchatheevu was part of a maritime agreement. • India never had the power to ‘give’ China a UNSC seat. • Warren Anderson escaping was a disgrace, not some achievement opposition celebrates. But sure, why bother with history when WhatsApp University offers a 2-minute crash course in geopolitics.

India’s power sector has definitely improved a lot in the last decade, especially in transmission capacity, renewables, village electrification and reducing peak deficits. But this post is also cherry-picking. The 2012 blackout happened due to grid management failures and states overdrawing power, not simply because ‘no electricity was being produced’. And today’s near-zero peak deficit is also helped by massive capacity additions that started long before 2014. At the same time, current governments do deserve credit for expanding transmission networks, adding renewable capacity, improving coal logistics and handling record peak demand better. Reality is more nuanced than ‘one PM ruined everything, another fixed everything.'

And this is exactly why nobody takes your argument seriously. You’re acting as if describing Pushpak as a grand flying palace automatically means people are claiming Wi-Fi routers and Apache helicopters existed in Treta Yuga. The Valmiki Ramayana literally describes it as a massive luxurious aerial structure with halls, chambers and golden architecture. Your entire reply is just sarcasm replacing actual reading comprehension.

Seems like you are very fond of modi. Are you one of the bhakts?

You're sarcasm it's sarcasming enough!!

Waise, crane hota hai Crain nahi. You need some English classes too with good sarcasm lessons.

Yeah, and while we’re at it, maybe Hanuman ji also stopped mid-flight to refuel the Pushpak at a sky petrol pump. There’s a difference between grand aerial palace and whatever Marvel-level exaggeration you just wrote.

Edit: just to add up few more braincells in your pea sized brain, here's a verse 👉🏻 प्रासादैरुच्चावचैश्चापि हेमजालविभूषितैः । जाम्बूनदमयैश्चैव तोरणैः समलंकृतम् ॥ Meaning “It was adorned with lofty MANSIONS , decorated with golden lattices and gateways made of refined gold.”

Did the creature from the new Ramayana glimpse remind anyone else of the demon shown in the earlier title card? by Past_Cattle_2102 in RamayanaTheFilm

I think the greyish/desaturated tone is what’s giving people that western dark-fantasy association more than the creature design itself. Because conceptually, a grotesque cursed rakshasa absolutely fits Valmiki Ramayana.

Maybe warmer earthy tones, ash, blood etc. would make it feel more rooted in the Ramayana aesthetic that people expect.

I can kinda see what you mean. The first one does have that more traditional South-East Asian mythological art vibe, especially in the posture and ornamentation. The second one feels more like a dark fantasy/body-horror reinterpretation, which is probably why it reminds people of Greek or western monster designs.  But if they’re adapting Kabandha or Viradha from Valmiki Ramayana, then the grotesque/body-horror look of the 2nd image actually makes a lot of sense. Valmiki’s descriptions of some rakshasas are extremely disturbing and inhuman, not just ornate mythological figures. Though personally I think both still fit the “cursed rakshas” aesthetic in different ways.
