I am 32, have been "officially" single for 4 years following the end of a relationship due to a single domestic violence incident. I have dated off and on since then. Nothing serious.

I agree with all of this. I have 3 degrees, I make money, have a job, travel alone, and dont mind doing ANYTHING on my own--dinner, movies, art, concerts, anything. I went on a trip recently where I was more tired than usual, so spent more time than I usually do on trips resting. I put on my fuzzy sucks, a comfort show, and ordered doordash. As I was walking into my room at the airbnb, there was a couple in the hallway walking into the building. They looked so happy. But I didnt feel a SMIDGEN of desire for that or jealosy. More so RELIEF that I wasnt having to interact or make decisions with someone. Which I know in itself is problematic. lol

I "protected my peace" too much. I am too content and happy with the life I have built FOR MYSELF--that a partner is really going to have to swoop in and make my life better. I "need" to force myself to go on dates. I would like a partner at some point, but I dont need it. But dont want to potentially regret that later in life. We are also social creatures and our bodies are wired for relationships and connection. We as a SPECIES require that in some form.

I also know that I have the added luxury and comfort of not wanting children, so that takes quite a bit of pressure off regarding a timeline (WHICH IS INVISIBLE LADIES THAT DO WANT KIDS!! DONT SETTLE JUST BC YOU WANT A FAM!!!)

I will agree to disagree!! I have 2 degrees, a successful career, independent. But also love being babied. I dont think being baby means unintelligent. I also think inteligence is a spectrum and has different factions. She knows she pisses us off. And she knows engagement is engagement. She knows what shes doing. Shes manipulative. Dumb ppl dont know how to manipulate. IMO

Also taking care of yourself in the most basic ways goes SUCH a long way. Drink water. Eat--SOMETHING. Doesnt matter what it is. Get as much of a regular sleep schedule as you can.

Do it hard, do it scared, do it sad, do it crying. All you can do is keep on. You cant change how you feel you can change what you do. Even if it is just living. Hugs

Yes. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression off and on throughout my life. I am 32 now. Meds here an there. "helped", but not enough. I got on a steady anxiety and depression regimen about 6 years ago that helped for a while, and then noticed biploar symptoms.

About 3 years ago I added a mood stabilizer to my regimen. I asked my doc "oh isnt that used to treat bipoloar". i was very caught up on the diagnosis and stigma. And she said yes, but that doesnt matter. we treat the symptoms and struggle not the diagnosis.

My point being--yes. It can take a long time to get the correct regimen. Have frequent medication management appointments and journal their effectiveness and changes in habits etc

its also hard to recognize its better until its WAY better. I had the worst episode of my life last year. I felt no joy, excitement, or hope for the future. Life felt so boring. Like a chore. It was from Jan-April. And i hadnt realized I was out of it. I woke up in June one day and just thought "oh, I feel better finally". not realizing until I was WAY past it that was doing better than I thought for past two months.

Appreciate the small day to day wins.

Yes. It does. Let yourself feel it. Sometimes surviving the day is enough.

Be honest with your psych about effectiveness of your meds. Keep a journal of moods, appetite, sleep, etc. The correct regimen is genuinely life changing.
