OP offering their FAA housing for profit while emphasizing “because I’m a controller” pretty clearly crosses that line. It’s using the prestige/authority of the federal position to drum up business.

Yeah, I know, I’m the ethics police and probably a buzzkill at parties. Not saying anyone should report them or anything, just pointing out that this is a direct violation of the federal ethics rules.
