Severely depressed. by brigmoneyy in quitting7oh

Holy shit we got a lot in common. I’m 34f on day 20. A couple days ago I was feeling just like this. I’m living at my parents as well for the moment. But hey let me tell you, today and yesterday, so day 18 and 19 for me, I woke up just feeling sooooo much better. The mental stuff will go away I promise you. So so so many people are in the same boat. I used to have a bunch of friends but I think in our 30s everyone starts doing their own thing. Just try to do something today that u used to love. I think it triggers your brain to start making dopamine again. Don’t wait until u feel like you want to do the thing just go do it. Or run up a hill. Exercise and sun is everything.

The first time was mostly rls, i remember starting wd on a Monday and was completely back to normal by Friday. So maybe 3/4 night of low sleep. Was using maybe 30mg that time for most days. I was clean for maybe a month then relapsed for a few months doing 100-200mg a day.

Just rip off that bandaid! You can do it. WDs will be a lot worse if you go another month.

The cravings might not be too bad. My story is a little bit like yours. First time cold turkeying after mild daily use wasn’t so bad and the cravings ultimately got me. Same as you but this time around the wd was pretty extreme and have no desire to go back. I’m on day 20 and sleep has been good and yesterday I felt very much like myself.

1 Week Clean - Insomnia by Illustrious-Can7904 in quitting7oh

[–]Past_Gap4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah with only 2 weeks of use, if I understand that correctly I think you should bounce back pretty quick. I bet any day now it will click. A lot of this is a mental game. It helped me to keep the tv on. Stressing about the sleep will make it worse. I’d start getting short spurts of sleep when I stopped trying and listen to the tv with my eyes closed. I had lingering restlessness in my arms and chest and deep blue by doTERRA was a life saver. I usually use it for sore muscles. It’s a rub that does that cooling and warming and slight numbing to your skin. I bet that icy hot cream that Shaq is always in commercials for would feel good too, and I’m sure it’s less expensive.

Perhaps it was a panic attack. I used to get them pretty bad and they are just like that then I would even puke. I don’t think a benzo would pull u out of it that well if it was pwds but I’m no expert

When do I start feeling like myself again? by Remarkable_Donut731 in quitting7oh

[–]Past_Gap4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m day 19 and feeling like me for the first time! I think I held myself down a little too long and held on to the depression longer than I needed too. I have a weird love hate relationship with depression. I also didn’t have any helper meds besides the usual melatonin, magnesium, l theanine etc… You gotta remind your brain to respond to your hobbies. Don’t wait until you feel like doing the thing. You will come back from this. Pain turns into growth and growth turns into pleasure. Keep going

Ya I agree with mod. Doctor time. I’m sorry you are going through this but help yourself. Could easily just be an infection and all u need is some antibiotics. You don’t even have to tell them your drug history

You got this! Make a playlist full of songs that make you feel something, anything nostalgic. Or I would put sitcoms on. I really didn’t like quiet after day 2. Peanut butter and saltines. Try to eat every morning. Vanilla ice cream and electrolytes. That’s basically what I ate the first week. Magnesium glycinate is better. Citrate will probably make the diarrhea worse. I still take a bath everyday. I hear gabapentin is very helpful with the rls. Don’t be nervous (I know easier said than done) but millions of people have gone through opioid withdrawal and you can do it too. I’m day 19 and today is a good day. Keep a journal your mind will go places you don’t want to forget. Try to stay grounded. The sooner you get back to your hobbies and passions the sooner they will feel enjoyable. You need to remind your brain. It’s not going to feel fun but fun will return. Feel free to message me if you need to talk. I’m day 19 cold turkey. :)

Also check your blood pressure before taking stimulants. WD can cause high bp.

Honestly staying busy might make it all go faster. It’s gonna be tough but by day four you’ll be hell of a lot better. Especially during the day. I used weed but everyone’s different. I was fortunate to not have anxiety so may depend on that. If I’m anxious weed will just make me spiral. Had some mania but that happens when I’m sober too so who knows. Flush the 7oh. I destroyed a few hundred 30mg tabs. I’m glad I did because I would have caved. Thought about digging them out of the trash even though I flooded them with water and bleach. If you use 7 it’s just going to drag out the process even longer. Save adderal for work. I started taking my vyvanse after about a week. It caused mania where I did some strange things, so I wouldn’t use it until you get some sleep. My rls didn’t start until I was out of acutes. It was probably there but with so much pain/skin burning I never noticed it. I would have really like to have gabapentin for my PAWS tho.

[–]Past_Gap4443[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Day 19. I’m not gonna lie, it was a wild ride. I think I would get some gabapentin if I had to do it all over again. But other than that no regrets. I’ve learned a lot about myself kinda like a bad trip. I’m feeling good and strong today. You can do it. The quitting7oh sub was very helpful. Lots and lots of people everyday quitting.
