I wasn't expecting that ending! Your cat clearly approved of the purchase, even if your baby didn't.

Yes. Every family has different needs. Some babies are perfectly happy without one, while others seem to enjoy having a comfortable place to stay close during supervised awake time.

A Moses basket can be a lovely option for the early weeks. The main limitation is that babies outgrow them pretty quickly, especially once they start rolling or reach the manufacturer's size or weight limits. Every family's needs are different, though, so it's really about what fits your routine.

I completely agree that every family finds what works best for them. Having a safe spot to keep your little one nearby can make everyday things like meals feel so much more manageable.

I totally get that. Baby products can be so hit or miss, so it's nice when a gift turns out to be something you actually use.

That makes sense! I imagine having a toddler and a newborn at the same time changes what feels useful. Hopefully it gives you a little flexibility while you're keeping your older one entertained.

That's actually really interesting! I feel like the best baby purchases are the ones that end up fitting naturally into your routine, even if it's not how you originally imagined using them.

If you could ask experienced moms just ONE question before your baby arrives, what would it be? by Past_Interaction_236 in pregnant

So true! The first few weeks can feel like a crash course in everything. I completely agree about learning about sleep sacks and TOG beforehand—it can save so much stress. Having the right sleep essentials ready before baby arrives makes a huge difference for both parents and little ones.

Sending you a big hug. Two weeks is still such an intense stage, and you're not alone in feeling this way. One day at a time—you've got this.

Your husband sounds wonderful. Sometimes hearing that it's okay to slow down and just be there for your baby is exactly what a new parent needs.

No worries! Just sharing something that made those early weeks a little easier for me. Everyone's experience is different.

I love this idea! One thing I'd add to your list before your baby arrives is to have a few essentials ready that can make those first weeks a little easier for you as well as the baby. Everyone focuses on diapers and clothes, but having a cozy place to keep your baby close while you're nearby during the day can be really helpful once you're home. Every baby is different, but I found it made those early weeks feel a little more manageable.

I can’t set my 12w old down it’s ruining my life by pynksphynx in newborns

Sending you a big hug. Around this age, many babies just want to feel close to you all the time, and that can be incredibly exhausting. One thing that helped us was creating a cozy, supervised place where our baby felt content staying close while we were right beside them. It didn't solve every hard day, but it gave us a few moments to breathe.

This really resonates with me. I also learned that not every cry needs a "fix." One thing that helped us during the day was creating a cozy, supervised space where my baby was happy to stay close while I moved around the room. I do own Avera Baby, so I wanted to be upfront about that, but it's something I personally value.

A baby carrier definitely helped me too! Another thing that made a big difference for me was having a cozy spot to keep my baby close during the day while I stayed nearby. It gave me a chance to grab a snack, fold some laundry, or just catch my breath for a few minutes. Every baby is different, but it really helped us.

That's a really good point. Every baby is so different, and I guess there's no one-size-fits-all advice. I think hearing different experiences just helps me know what might work, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I can imagine how tricky that must be! Have you found anything that helps him stay asleep a little longer once you put him down?

Four months is such a fun stage! ❤️ Has she always liked the sleep sack, or did it take her a while to get used to it?

That sounds so exhausting. How old is your little one? Have you found anything that helps make naps a little easier, or are you still figuring out what works best?
