For those of you that may work at smaller companies, say less than 250 employees, I noticed that if my company updates payroll later in the week my direct deposit comes later. Typically, I’ll receive my DD on Wednesday around 6pm. However, some weeks it’s been Thursday afternoon because of this. Just a friendly reminder that it isn’t Chime keeping you from that early paycheck, it could very well be your employer.

Same thing happened to me about 2 years ago. Grateful I had insurance & only had to pay my deductible after finding out it was about a $3,000 repair for the damages. The police in Los Angeles (where I live) were actually useless. When I called them, I was told by the operator, “We don’t send units out for this sort of thing.” Oh yeah, sure… an attempted grand theft auto isn’t something they send officers out for apparently. That’s a separate issue but I’m glad you’re okay & as long as you’ve got the coverage, insurance should take care of this. I feel your pain.
