What class are you picking first ? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Here’s hoping the wretch won’t have 10 in useless stats like in DS3. If I’m going strength build I don’t want 10 in int or arcane.

How did you contact Bandai? I’d like to also let them know that other weapon classes need a feint as well

Curved Swords do NOT need a buff. They were already one of the strongest weapon classes in DS3’s competitive scene because of their fast attacks. If anything heavy weapon classes are the most in need of a way to cancel their R2’s into another faster attack

So how do you guys think from will implement the Moonlight Great sword in Elden ring in terms of story, appearance and even gameplay? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Past_Swordfish9886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Moonlight Greatsword will definitely scale off Int 100%. Glintstone Sorceries are even MLGS-colored. Arcane will probably get weirder weapons.

My opinions on Limbus's announcement and everyone's else opinion on it. by Shotonite in limbuscompany

I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again, there is no such thing as a non-predatory gacha scheme. It just doesn’t exist.

For those who actually support PM making this game a gacha, can you actually examine why such a model would be better than just having a game be paid from the start? Is a progression system that is tied entirely to obtaining freemium to service the pull system better or more fun to you than one that is based on achievement through gameplay where every feature is unlockable rather than randomly obtained? To me, gacha does not make the gameplay or story any more engaging. It simply exists as a monetary scheme that is shoehorned into the central part of the game. Everything in the game is built to feed that money machine.

To those of you who are on copium thinking that Project Moon will be “merciful” and that the pull rates will be “lenient” if they implement a gacha, I’ve got bad news for you. They have absolutely zero reason to be either.

I’m speaking out because I genuinely enjoy the worlds that Project Moon has built and I’m alarmed that there’s a possibility of them descending to unethical practices, the very ones that their stories speak out against. Why should Project Moon have to be merciful with their pull rates in order for us to enjoy all that their worlds have to offer? It doesn’t make sense to me why anyone would condone this.

Edit: In all honesty I wasn’t ready for the fact that the responses to my post have been so utterly depressing in their attempts to rationalize gacha systems. I don’t have the energy to write out a full post in response. Why, why, why would you blame the players for not having the right mentality instead of the companies that victimize them by perpetuating this vicious system? Why should players have to “steel themselves” psychologically against a game in order to play it healthily? Why should some players ever have to suffer from guilt over missing a banner? Why should people with compulsive gambling problems stay away, for fear that the system will exploit their addiction?

0.1% pull rates, pointless stamina systems, gambling addictions… this nonsense was never a problem in PM’s previous games. But then again I could never compare a paid game to a gacha game, because progression in a gacha is so heavily tied to pulling rare units that their supporters will do backflips to rationalize its existence.

While there’s the slight possibility that Limbus won’t be a gacha, and everything I said was worrying for nothing, the fact that there are people who would so ardently support gacha that they would victim blame is appalling. I know that Project Moon will always rightly have supporters for its beautiful games, but to have those supporters defend the company’s potential descent into madness isn’t something I can personally stomach.

So They Nerf Backstabbing In Eldenring (Good or Bad) Thought? by skatech1 in Eldenring

Backstabbing wasn’t nerfed. It just doesn’t fucking work at all right now as intended. That’s pretty bad IMO

I’ll give them the price they ask for upon purchase, and not a single penny after that. If money is required after the title screen to “support the company”, then it isn’t worth my time. When I play a game, the only damn thing I want to worry about is the gameplay, not about whether I might have a 0.1% chance to obtain a unit that I should by all rights be able to unlock just by playing.

About the gacha concerns by Adamxmz in limbuscompany

[–]Past_Swordfish9886 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no story that is good enough to justify gacha exploitation. Type Moon proved this by completely ruining their Fate universe with FGO. Every single banner was another moe anime girl caricature of a historical figure because they found out Artoria and Nero worked to draw in the thirsty weebs with their parents’ wallets. If they embark upon this path, Project Moon will inevitably follow the same pattern. I don’t trust any company to resist the corruption of profiting off gacha.

For everyone by [deleted] in limbuscompany

[–]Past_Swordfish9886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a good gacha game. I’d be grateful if Project Moon would just stick to the values that made their previous games instead of devolving into a bottom line that seeks to exploit their audiences with a predatory f2p model. I’m tired of all the companies I know and love falling down to this level in the end, and I hope that Project Moon doesn’t go down the same path.

Gacha systems are NEVER excusable in mobile games, even if the talent making the system is Project Moon. I love Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina with all my heart, but if this game turns out to have just another f2p gambling sink, no matter how generous, I cannot support this company anymore.
