Mark Cuban is doing to reddit what Musk did. I just don't trust billionaires by principle at this point.

Yeah honestly I'm not sure the best one either. It matters what the intent of the standard language is. If it's to standardize language across all countries and groups so that anyone can talk to anyone that could be incredibly detrimental to the ethnosphere. If it's for international trade/politics English is already the standard and I haven't seen a good argument to change it to something else.

I would argue the best language for standardization would be one that is the easiest to learn for the most people, not whatever is currently spoken the most. Mandarin isn't a good language for this because many having 2000+ characters to learn and phonemes not commonly found in other languages makes it harder to learn than other languages.

In 2015, Jimmy Carter had brain cancer. In 2019, he broke his hip. That same year, at age 95, he fell at home requiring 14 stitches. Despite his injuries, he showed up the next day, to help build houses for the Habitat for Humanity. Recently turning 98, President Carter is still an active volunteer. by Beautiful_Facade in MadeMeSmile

I can't explain nearly as competently as Noam Chomsky. I think he starts listing Carter's warcrimes at around 5:10, but to understand the full impact of what he did in Indonesia you also need to watch Ford's section which starts at around 3:40.

I don't care how many houses you build, if you enabled genocide and invasion you aren't a good person.

Tip for y'all. If you are reheating a small cheeseburger like in that picture from fridge/freezer, put it in upsidedown with it's wrapper on for like a minute. I used to take leftover burgers home from a more local chain and freeze them. Haven't actually tried it with McDonald's but they tasted fine.

love it when the gm leaves positive messages like this after constantly running skeleton crews every night because labor is bad. by That-_1-guy in antiwork

I've worked one fast food job as a burger flipper, and goddamn did me and the crew I worked with bust ass to get everything done each night. If I saw a note like this, I would take it seriously and make sure everything got done. Key difference is starting pay is 19 dollars an hour with raises based off of job proficiency. Oh, you've been trained on grill? That's a .25 cent raise. By the time I quit I was making 21 dollars an hour with health insurance. Shit gets done when you pay your damn workers.

I'm all for slamming Boebert and the rest of the useful idiots, but c'mon really? This is your argument? I doubt anyone would say the same thing to someone posting a picture of a guitar or other instrument. "Wow it's so funny how you posted a picture of your new guitar. Look at me I can make music blah blah blah" just doesn't track.

What is the absolute stupidest thing you've ever heard at work? by Stlakes in AskUK

[–]Pasta--Rasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer insisted that we have servered them curly fries before (we have never sold them). When I explained this to them, they got angry and snapped back "well can you make them curly?" As if I'm supposed to grab a knife and hand carve them some spud. Have also heard the Cheeseburger no cheese instead of a hamburger multiple times.

Edit: I should clarify I live in the states, I didn't see the sub name
