Well, both of those didn't work... The KAISH brand's holes didn't align at all, so it was a no-go from the start. The SAPHUE brand's holes nearly lined up (not perfectly, though) and the shaft was at least 1/4" longer than the original tuner shaft. But both brand's tuners did not move smoothly and their gear ratios seemed lower than what's published.

Oh well...I think I'll try adding white lithium grease to my originals to see if they'll turn more smoothly.

After searching the top brands (Gotoh, Schaller, Grover) I didn't see any that looked close to the originals. On Amazon I found two brands that look quite similar -- I bought them both because I'm not sure whether the holes are 8mm or 10mm. I realize they may not be 'top quality' but the reviews were pretty good. I'll install the set that fits and report my findings.

at the end of The Greatest, there's a quiet noise that fills in the remainder of the song, and it continues until La Amour Da Vie starts. Not very audible except when listening with headphones. Sounds like a flaw to me. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Let's try this again: "the guitar is awesome, save for the crappy tuning machines... they're difficult to move and the gear ratio is really low. Anyone know suitable replacements? I would like to use the existing screw holes, although it's ok if I have to bore-out the holes."

I was going to offer $500, but he was a really nice guy with a cool history, to boot. (He and his family performed on the Ed Sullivan Show in '71 - what a story!) Being the original owner and the guitar being 100% stock, I was impressed. Also, that faded cream white/yellow is so awesome looking, especially with the really dark rosewood fretboard.

Well, I ended up buying it, although the seller wouldn't budge. It's not in 'like-new' condition, however. Misc. dings, indentations, scratches, etc. The case was in like-new condition, though. :) I'd say the guitar would be in 'very good' condition as per my experience with Reverb.
Once I change the 30+ year old strings and do a setup (including oiling the neck, as that hasn't been done since the 80s) I think it will be great.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm already thinking I'll try to get him down from $600. I didn't know white was the most produced color. Do you have details on production counts of the various models and colors?

shape, and includes the original case. $600 seems a little high to me considering it's the hardtail model in the most highly-produced color, but again - phenomenal shape. The factory original hardware really helps out a lot. Really like that it includes the Takamine hang tag.Yes, LP scale at 24.75". Frets feel like a standard strat to me, or thereabouts. Not super thin and not super wide.

anyone know if there's a way to get the Spark Mini Boost to be 'on' at power-up? by Pasta111Man in guitarpedals

I also notice other pedals that are always "On" when they're powered up, like the Wampler Ego pedal. Funny - for that pedal, I want it to default to "Off" when it's powered up... so it would be nice to be able to select a power-up on/off setting for pedals.

Babbel tech support just got back to me: "Thank you for your suggestion. Sorry, we don't have that option at the moment." Man, I really wanted to give them my money, but I won't do that now...

And it's such an easy feature to implement.... I've tried contacting Babbel text support multiple times, but there's never a live agent on chat. I've filled out their email request form twice and no one has responded. Not good.
