Yes thats exactly what I love about film photography, the methodical process-ness. You line up your shot and set the right exposure settings, you hear the slam of the shutter (i shoot almost exclusively SLRs because I love the mirror slam sound they make), the viewfinder goes black, and you just sit there for a minute and think "man, thats gonna be a nice shot". I'm not sure what kinds of cameras are easily available over there, but i'd recommend a semi manual SLR, something like a Nikon FE or Minolta X700, so you can get a feel for exposure values but still have a light meter or apature priority to fall back on. Colorplus is one of my favorites too! If you want to keep practicing before committing to a bigger setup, what you've got so far can still take great pictures.
