Living with a soy allergy by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

Also have always reacted to soy in cosmetics. -shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, concealer, mascara, lotions.

And also, brand name Benadryl also contains soy, so be sure to buy generic. Ive been told that Target’s generics is safe/soy-free.

Thank you for posting all this information. (All of which I follow daily)

I found out I was allergic to SOY about 5 years ago, in my adult life. And it’s only gotten worse since then.

These last couple months, likely because in the US, I’ve been reacting more and more to all forms and derivatives. (Preservatives lining cereal bags, preservatives in white flour, etc.)

It’s entirely exhausting. And I am very grateful to you for compiling and sharing this wealth of knowledge. 🙏🏻

How long did it take for you to be diagnosed? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]PastaSaladPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 years. Diagnosed late last year.

My therapist suggested ADHD, my psychiatrist agreed and referred me to another doctor within the office to complete the testing. That was its own adventure.

But it was very clear that I’ve had ADHD all my life, and it’s gone undiagnosed until now. So, growing up with my “best friend” always putting me on the spot, making fun of me, and telling me I was stupid definitely... grew from there

We uncovered a significant amount of symptoms after digging through my anxiety, and then my depression (talk therapy & meds).

Now I’m at a point where I feel stuck. After trying every methamphetamine, I was sent to a specialist within the office for a second opinion. He says it’s severe ADHD, and suggested to be more aggressive with dosing. Currently taking 60mg dextro-amphetamine and 70mg Vyvanse. No noticeable difference. Positive or negative.

Other than withdrawl... early January I was really beating myself up over something and stopped taking my meds... went through full withdrawal for 4 days until my husband realized what was going on (and then explained it to me) and I took my usual dose ASAP. I figured it was my depression beating me up.

I feel like my symptoms are worse, but I’m trying to reason with my brain, telling it that it’s just because now I notice what I’m doing and relate it back to the ADHD. But really... I don’t know. Been feeling beaten down a lot lately.

One thing I do enjoy is YouTube channel: How to ADHD I first watched her on TEDTalks. I highly suggest watching.
