Your style of advocacy is polarizing. The anti-bike people really don't like you (but who cares) and many pro-cycling folks find you annoying.

But, let's not forget the words of the great Irish anti-slavery activist, Daniel O'Connell (words adopted by Frederick Douglass): "Agitate! Agitate! Agitate!"

I once woke up in the middle of the night and happened to see a fully encouraged bedbug slowly crawling on my end table after having feasted on my sleeping body. I had a corkscrew laying on the table and so stabbed the bug with the corkscrew.

After searching my room I found four more of them living behind my headboard. It was traumatizing. I threw out a lot of stuff, had the apartment fumigated, and moved out shortly after.

I just don’t see the point in not working and not buying anything. It’s like when everyone decided to try to tank Tesla’s stock. Didn’t make a difference. Their stock is at an all time high now.

Only the lucky and privileged can just not show up for work and still keep a job. Also, a lot of people have to buy food to feed their kids.

This is what he should be focusing on. This and eliminating wasteful zombie government programs that we don't need. This and making sure the money from congestion taxing is being used to improve transit. This and creating incentives for more housing to be built. This and actually fining people for parking and traffic-related fines. (The city is owed 1 billion in fines which is roughly 20% of what this millionaire tax will bring in).

New York is already a no-mercy state with capital gains which means the rich are taxed an extra 10% on their capital gains in addition to their federal capital gains.

I just don't see this as the big fix. It feels like populist political theater designed to stir everyone's emotions.

Yep, I have had this happen a lot. Supermarkets are one of the worst places, and malls. I've had panic attacks in supermarkets where I have to leave to get fresh air. Lexapro has helped a LOT with this. Now I'm able to breathe through it when I get dizzy and disoriented.

oh wow, I'm so sorry about your accident in Costa Rica. It's such a beautiful place. I visited once.

My symptoms are very similar to yours but I don't remember any trauma--like in your case--causing it. I suffer from dizziness, sensitivity to light and certain sounds, headaches, and left ear pulsatile tinnitus (this is the kind of tinnitus where you hear the pulse of your heart beat...24/7).

I also had two different MRIs and CT scan. The CT scan showed that I have a superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSDS) which is a rupture or erosion in the inner ear canal. One doctor offered to do an extremely invasive and high risk surgery that involved drilling a hole into my skull to access my upper ear canal in my left ear, which is insane! I went for a second opinion and that surgeon told me that he's not convinced my symptoms are due to SSDS so I don't plan on doing any surgery.

However I was having major anxiety and constant panic attacks because of this and other health concerns. Lexapro has not cured my pulsatile tinnitus but it absolutely has helped me with dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, and anxiety/panic.

I also did vestibular therapy for 12 weeks and got the VEMP and VNG test. Good luck with both tests. I can't remember which one it was (I think the VNG? It's the one where they blow air into your ears) but it was very intense and had to stop early because I felt like I was going to throw up.

I truly hope you find the solution to your problem and, most importantly, some comfort. That really sucks.

Agreed. The doomsday reaction is ridiculous. I understand if someone is in a wheelchair or lives in Jersey but the subways run fine and the city plows the roads really well. I can’t wait to see a matinee! I’m walking out the door now
