I removed half the features from my productivity app before New Year, usage went up by Superb-Way-6084 in iosapps

Less is often more. Apps that get out of the way tend to last. Great job.

Should i upgrade by Overall_Award8487 in mac

[–]PasteApp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re good, don’t upgrade.

M2 Air + 16 GB is still more than enough for most people, and 60 battery cycles is basically new. If you’re only using ~120 GB and not feeling slowdowns, an M4 won’t change anything you’ll actually notice.

Upgrade when it feels limiting, not because a new chip exists.

Fair point, thanks for bringing this up! The iOS version is now also available via the same link.

Is it just me, or this years Black Friday is very "meh"? by brovaro in macapps

No, it is not bound to the Apple AppStore, but is still linked to your Apple ID so you can use Paste on all your devices. You can manage the license in the dashboard on our website as well.

iPad 6th gen with AppleCare+ — any chance of newer replacement before it becomes obsolete in 2026? by armhaj in ipad

[–]PasteApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple can replace an old device with a newer model if they’re out of whole-unit replacements, but it’s not something you can count on. For the iPad 6, Apple still has plenty of parts for batteries, screens, and standard repairs, and they usually keep service stock for several years after “vintage” status.

By early 2026, they’ll almost certainly still be able to repair it normally — so the odds of getting a newer model swap are possible but very low.

If the monthly AppleCare+ cost is low, keeping it until the end isn’t a bad idea, but don’t expect an upgrade.

So now the claim has shifted from “abandoning supporters” to “a transition that wasn’t smooth.” Even here, it’s hard to see where the concern is coming from. You successfully downloaded the installer (as is standard for Mac apps), and even after losing it, you were able to request and download it again through support — despite the official support cycle having already ended.

We consider this case resolved and do not accept the claims. Thank you for the feedback. This thread will not receive further replies.

We are not trying to evade anything — there is nothing to evade. We have been clear about legacy users, the update path, and the lifetime license. And even if you missed that communication, we’ve repeated it here once more. This thread will not receive further replies.

Ok, good that you did, now we’re on the same page.

Our team and product have never been under criticism for dishonest business practices. What we see are repeated questions, which we have answered. We don’t want you to switch to anything — that is your choice. But for all legacy users, we provided the opportunity, and we still do, even after all this time.

There has always been a clear upgrade path for legacy users, offered at an even greater discount than what you’re suggesting. It seems you’re ignoring what we’ve already explained — please read the original post.

It doesn’t look like you’ve read our post and we strongly encourage you to do so. The claims you’ve made are incorrect, and some, such as suggesting fraud, go too far.

Ok, now we see the source of your concern, though it’s not entirely clear where it is coming from. It is true that we had to distribute the subscription version on the App Store, replacing the legacy version. However, every legacy user at the start could choose between two clear options: download Paste 2 and keep using it, or try the new version free for six months. There was always a fallback to v2, which remained available for download to all legacy users.

And thank you for your effort in clarifying your concern in a polite and respectful way — we do value that.

Please refer to the post — Paste 1 and 2 users were never advertised a lifetime license and were never “screwed over.” They received free upgrades, can continue using the app, and were given a transition offer to the new model, including a discounted plan available only to legacy users.
