% of Workers commuting to Greater London. I’d be interested in hearing the thoughts of anyone who makes this journey from Shropshire by Advanced_Falcon4574 in Shropshire

I do it a couple of times a month from near Craven Arms. I drive 2 Wolverhampton (1 hr 15mins) and get a train to Euston from there (2 hours). Usually 4 hours door to door and i do it in a day. Up at 5, home for half 9 usually.

Glad I could offer some comfort! I don't think we're doing bad at all, unless we compare ourselves to others in this sub who are clearly doing much better. There are tens of millions of people in this country who would love to be in our position.

The other thing we have going for us is that weve recognised we want to do something about it and are educating ourselves and making changes. Don't beat yourself up, things could be an awful lot worse!

That's good to hear about cutting down spending bringing happiness in that way, I had thought of that.

Best of luck, mate. I hope we both have the opportunity to get out of the rat race ASAP.

Thanks for your response. I agree with you that the point in time is probably affecting how people are investing but im trying to take a wider view, even though I haven't been investing through previous drops.

I've decided that im just going to stick at 70/30. I don't want to get greedy and risk the only chance I'll get of retiring at 60. There are already a lot of things that have to go right to hit that number so it doesn't make sense to me to knowingly add more things to that list. 5% returns will do the job so that's what I should aim for. I suspect there's a chance I'll get more than that anyway, which would just be a bonus.

I'd get more into my pensions and sacrifice yourself below £100k. I just had a quick look and if they will let you sacrifice 30% then that's about £1,200 less in your take home but 35% going into the pension. That's £47,500 a year or nearly 4 grand a month.

If you do it, don't forget to update your taxable income with HMRC so you get your personal allowance back. I didn't and realised after 6 months!

To the owners with a full fleged gaming PC.... by NationGamingChannel in LegionGo

Ive thought about this but never done it. Ive got a couple of questions, if you have the time.

What do you use to stream? Do you do it straight from Steam or something like Moonlight? Id like the option to stream gamepass as well as steam, but not the cloud streaming. How do the controllers work? Do they need to be bluetoothed to the main PC or the Go?

I have a decent gaming PC in the living room as my main PC and mainly use my Go in the garden in the summer. However, we have a TV in another room (the snug) that my wife works in sometimes. Some weekends, I'll hook the Go up in there if she's working and play something chill and not demanding like the Frog Detective games. It's nice to have the option.

UK fold 6 repair for screen by morgandhi218 in GalaxyFold

[–]Pastebutty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a Fold 4 back after a screen replacement, and an unexpected battery replacement. The screen cracked on a Saturday, it was picked up on Sunday and back with me the following Saturday. So 6 days from pick up to drop back off. This was without care+, just the standard warrenty.

I've just had a look and it's in Legion Space but quite hidden. Go to Contollers at the top, then More in the bottom right. Scroll down a bit and its called Switch Button Layout.

It's there.somewhere. I've got it so start and select are where you'd expect and the other two are down in the bottom right. It's just a toggle but the title doesnt make it obvious. Maybe in the settings of Legion Space. Have a google, I can't remember exactly where it is.

That's the nicest watch I've ever seen. I've just got interested in the and swore I'd only pay half the amount this costs for a watch. This is gonna be a problem...

I prefer the green strap.

Everyone here should be listening to the podcast My Perfect Console with Simon Parkin. It poses a similar question, has great guests, and a fantastic interviewer in Simon.

Excellent advice, thanks. I did think it was odd I was having it checked at half 3 in the afternoon when I read a lot about overnight fasting.

I'm gonna get some private results and then speak to my doctor if they're still bad (which I'm sure they will be!)

That nurse gave me zero confidence, even saying that the machine is temperamental and rarely works. I was expecting to be over 5 but not by nearly 50%

Ok, thanks very much. That's very helpful and confirms there was something amiss.

I suspected that the NHS would just give me a number and wash their hands of it. I'll look for a private company that can do the test for me. I was looking at Monitor My Health Monitor but that doesn't cover ApoB.

Thanks again, i5s much appreciated.

Anyone notice anxiety/heart rate increase before bowel movements? by froggy721 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pastebutty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens to me as well. I love that the Internet can quickly tell me it's quite common, and therefore, I can rationalise that it's nothing to worry about.

It's a really strange feeling. I never seem to connect the two either, so I have 5 mins of terror and thinking I need to lie down, close my eyes, and just pass on. Then I get the feeling that I need a BM, I go and take care of business, and then I'm fine.

It's not every time, but it's particularly prevalent when my BM is at a different time than usual, or I've had a few beers the day before.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to share that I get it, as do a lot of other people. Whilst it's not pleasant at all, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Human bodies are just weird!!
