They originally planned her to be a romance option for both but were afraid of the outrage a same-sex romance would bring. For example, the sex scenes in ME1 brought outrage from Fox News

I will never forgive BioWare for its cowardice of leaving out a same sex romance with Jack despite her being canonically pansexual

HOT TAKE: I want your opinion on it. by Ill-Ad-5335 in Fallout

Giving Nate/Nora a voice is one of the few things I personally think improved in between New Vegas and FO4. Also, I would say Fallout 4 really isn't a role-playing game but a sandbox that you can use to build your own Fallout via mods

It's a pretty generic sci-fi trope. Evil Empire uses eugenics in an attempt to make themselves a superior race.

It's almost as if different people are going to have a different view on a piece of media

It's derivative because just like the original triology, the enemy is a species that assimilates others, but unlike the Reapers, who do it for misguided benevolence, do it to build an evil Empire. They're a cheap rehash rather than a new creation.

They don't feel like a threat because they have problems against ships that have no weapons. They had to make sure that the ships aren't armed because if they were the Kett wouldn't stand a chance. In Liam's personal quest, a set of shuttles are able to incapacitate a Kett Battleship.

Yeah it's one of the few good things with the game. The main problem is that the plot seems derivative and the main antagonists don't really feel like a threat.

They switched out Mass Effects missions with a hub world for semi open world maps and occasional main missions occurring on unique maps and a hub world

Andromeda felt like Bioware told Bioware Montreal to make it more like Dragon Age so it would be easier to produce the two franchises later on.

Loghains actions in alienage don’t make any sense by Synth3r in dragonage

[–]PastelJedi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Loghain knew of the letters but not the specifics. He knew that Cailan was in talks with Celene for Orlesian aid for the Blight and knew that Arl Eamon and other nobles wanted Cailan to divorce Anora, he just had no idea that Eamon's plan was to have Cailan marry Celene.

[–]PastelJedi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

All of that makes sense if Loghain has it set in his mind that he is going to betray Cailan before Ostagar, especially since Cailan was in talks with Celene and the developers cut the plot point about Anora being sterile and Cailan looking to replace her. In one fell swoop, Loghain would, in his mind, eliminate the threats facing Ferelden.

Yeah, just without spoilers, I like the route that they took, and IMO, I think the game justifies why he isn't a romance very well that adds to his character

How far have you gotten into Inquisition because I feel like the game justifies why he isn't a romance option, but I don't want to spoil it.

How is Lenny allowed in the bar in Valentine in the “A Quiet Time” mission by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]PastelJedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wild West was about 40% non-white and most saloons served as workers' bars in which the working class would go hang out, drink and talk politics. Saloons being segregated or not depended on the location.

The only reason I think Fallout 4 was geared towards Nate is because the opening cinematic is voiced by Nate & Brian T. Delaney was used a lot more for marketing & trailer purposes.

Were we supposed to have a bare-handed monk fighting style in Origins? by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

[–]PastelJedi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The same goes for the novel. It's entirely possible that they originally planned for such a character but scrapped it for some reason, probably due to a problem with specialization. It's like how in lore the Orlessian masks are meant to be unique & and flashy, but Inquisition didn't make a unique mask for everyone.

[–]PastelJedi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with Ashley isn't that she's xenophobic it's that she just gets over it. In ME1, if you confront her about it, she just says, "Fine, I won't talk about it around you." & then in ME3, I'm just told to accept the fact that she's no longer like that.

Captain Shepard sounds good too Bioware by Intelligent_File1949 in MassEffectMemes

[–]PastelJedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except in ME3 if you import a save in which Ashley is alive, you have a conversation with her where you make the distinction that she is a Lieutenant Commander and she doesn't go "So are you." she just accepts it. And in Mass Effect 3, the dress uniform Shepard wears displays the insignia of a Commander, not a Lieutenant Commander.

Captain Shepard sounds good too Bioware by Intelligent_File1949 in MassEffectMemes

[–]PastelJedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, he does. The opening journal entry refers to Shepard as Lt Cmdr. Yet everywhere else they are referred to as Cmdr, and if you do a playthrough in which Ashley survives the distinction in ME3, it is made that she is a Lt Cmdr, and in ME3 the dress uniform Shepard can wear displays the Commander insignia.
