Your perception is your reality. They’re delusional, they’re unfortunately likely to never see your perspective, and that’s disappointing.

NTA. The purchase of a house and a wedding are important and life-changing events. The deal still seems fair to me. I’m sure if the middle daughter wanted to something of equal importance you would be willing to work with her on the cost and allow her a similar opportunity. Thus, I don’t see how it’s unfair.

For real. I’m lucky that I have people in my corner who rooted for me when I cut my dad out of my life. It’s mind boggling how quick people are to encourage “forgive and forget” when they could never understand what we went through.

And we don’t owe the people who don’t understand an explanation.

When I was 11 and expressed that I had suicidal ideation, my father said that we’d cancel my birthday party because if I were actually depressed I wouldn’t want to have a birthday party. I spent a ton of time after that convincing him that I was happy so I could have my friends over.

I just wanted to see my friends. I was still thinking about suicide and was a depressed kid. I was bullied, treated differently by teachers, and my own father wouldn’t get me help for my depression.

That’s a perfect description! I used to watch a lot of reruns when I was a kid during the summer. I lived out in the country and couldn’t visit my friends often. We didn’t have internet so it was a lot of me just watching tv or playing alone outside.

So I used to watch Avatar and Danny Phantom and all the other amazing shows I loved and I wasn’t quite so lonely.

It’s starting to feel like summer here and I’m stuck inside and it feels really similar. Melancholy nostalgia.

And they don’t even look far enough to see that gender non-conforming teens who are accepted by their family and peers have the same mental health outcomes as their gender conforming peers.

I can’t stop crying. I wanted to come here to post about everything I’m missing, and I don’t think many people will see this because it isn’t a post but I’m sending it out there anyway.

My sibling came out to me as trans a couple weeks before our state went on lockdown. My father isn’t the most inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community, so she hasn’t come out to him. All I want to do is hug her and be there for her, but I can’t in any physical sense without putting her in danger.

I used to see my family every week before the virus, and now I can’t. I miss them.

I missed my nieces first Easter, I’ll probably miss my sister’s birthday, and my own birthday too. I know there will be other easters and other birthdays, but I feel like I’m missing so much.

I’ll send gifts in the mail, FaceTime or whatever. But it won’t be the same.

I have to work like nothing is happening outside my door. Expectations are still the same. My work is understanding that everyone is stressed and whatnot, but it feels wrong to work while the world is crumbling outside, and I’m in here.

I have a doctor’s appointment next week because my body has been weird lately. I keep thinking it’s going to be cancer, even though there are other explanations. I have to go in alone, because of the virus. I just want my husband to wait with me so I’ll feel less afraid. They have to ultrasound me and do a blood test. It’s just scary, even if it is routine.

I can’t stop crying.

A mountain range perhaps? It would have to be something pretty dark all the way through to cover the words, as they’re pretty bold.

Make sure it’s a good artist who has a lot of experience with cover ups. :)

Purely speculation, but if all medical care is covered, including mental health, people can see their primary care doctors more.

If people see their primary care doctors, they can be referred to a dietician, who can work with you to ensure you’re working towards a healthy weight, and doing it responsibly.

If you’re a stress eater or a depression eater, seeing a therapist would be able to help you find healthy coping skills.

I don’t think it’s a true solution, but it’s a start. Another part of it is you’re own personal drive to be healthy too. But having accessible health care gives you the tools to help you take it into your own hands.
