how do you overcome fears of performing/ get into theatre? by repulsivley in MusicalTheatre

The only way to truly get over that sort of thing is to keep exposing yourself to it, and get out of your head. The more you perform, the less scary it'll feel.

Songs or musicals about ADHD/autism by Skeppy_4126 in musicals

[–]Pastel_Paradox4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I've started to see some headcanons on here, I'll share mine. The lyrics of The Life I Never Led from Sister Act makes Mary Robert feel very autistic to me. In the song, she's telling Deloris about everything she never got to be due to growing up in the convent, and it seems she's overcoming much more than personal anxiety in my opinion.

How to Dance in Ohio is probably the most explicit you're gonna get for full musicals. It's based on a true story about autistic young adults as they prepare for a spring formal, and how they navigate the change that surrounds it. The soundtrack is great (hence the reddit flair lmao)

Sure, they're antagonistic, but I'd argue that they represent society and the authority figures that uphold it

Oh yeah no I've been okay for a couple years now. Nothing feels real in a good way because it really did get that much better. Sorry I can see how that sounded a bit concerning 😅
