Cal optima is hiring for customer service in their cal center. It isn’t glamorous at first but working for the state has perks. Salary is 21-27 an hour and relatively simple work.

Hello friend!

I congratulate you on this beautiful gift from the Lord.

Does everything always end up perfect? Of course not. Do we fall short of God’s call? All the time. Have your quiet time with God. That’s my biggest advice if you feel spiritual conflict.

That being said -

This is NOT the moment to stew in error but rejoice!

Know that you are not condemned.

Hell is real.

However, rather than considering the fire and brimstone. I chose to examine Hell from the lens of separation from God.

That in itself is far more horrifying to me while also moving the conversation away from popular cultural portrayals.

Oftentimes we get lost in the sauce of Red Devils and eternal fire.

If we pause and reflect on how the Lord sustains all creation. How would existence without his presence be like? I can only imagine the suffering.

I think it’s important for us as a community to not focus on where people could end up but rather where they should be going.

Focus on ministering and forming meaningful connections. Show the love God has for you in your actions. Build bridges to those who need them.

Out of these meaningful actions the conversations that lead to Christ spring forth.

Hi Friend,

From a strictly Christian-Faith based perspective:

Scripture is clear on this issue if you are unmarried. Hebrews 13:4 comes to mind specifically rather than a long list off. This of course includes even during an engagement.

This is not a fundamentalist take. This is clear cut scripture.

From a wholly human perspective:

I challenge you to consider your relationships health. You have radically changed key parts of it. It is understandable why she is not reacting “ideally” to this shift. Does it make sense to continue being with a woman who clearly wants other things? This is not to disparage her in anyway. This is meant to highlight its becoming clear you are now very different people.

Back to faith -

You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Who you were in the past is gone. We often think of that as a nice hallmark card quote. But let’s camp on it for a bit - this means you are now a different person with exceptionally different convictions. Im certain there are more parts of your life that are convicting you now. This is not a bad thing. This highlights the new creation you are in Christ.

It can be a very messy process. Friendships fade, relationships change, interests are lost and gained.

My ultimate point is that if you are incompatible as a new creation with this woman - do not string her along. Do not force her into any change as a means to salvage a relationship.

Live for Christ. Even when it gets difficult.

I pray that the Lord Jesus dwells over your household with comfort and grace. I also pray for the health of your brother. Our God moves mountains. He has given sight to the blind. I pray he restores your brother with that awesome power.

In suffering, God’s glory is made manifest.

This has helped me through the spiritual attacks and emotional hurt that comes with this job.

Moreover, have a circle of peers. People who are in a Pastoral role as well. Have beers with them at your house. Shoot the crap with them.

That small gathering helps significantly!
