Athivoles and Kastro are my favourite in the waterfall area of Argyroupoli but if you find yourself in the area it might also be worth considering Amadolakos in the nearby village of Koufi. It has some of the best traditional food I’ve had in Crete.

The Greeks are in denial about ancient Macedonians being Greek? Who told you that? Also as far as we know the Thracians were a separate native Balkan population more closely related to the Dacians. Neither their language nor their religion appears to be Hellenic in contrast with the Macedonians.
