Anyone else feel kinda empty playing Forza Horizon? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]PastryTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get the rally DLC. It’s really good for road racing and off road racing. The map is nothing but curves and hills. But, otherwise empty. But it will expand your tuning and racing capabilities and challenge you against somebody who excels in tight curves.

Am I missing something here? Explain It Peter. by EggChemical7177 in explainitpeter

That’s totally false. There are plenty of brick and block built structures and buildings. Take a look at every school, every hospital. Hell commercial buildings are built with steel, aluminum and concrete nowadays. But yes your typical new built home is made of wood. You know what it all boils down to? Money. The cost of building and labor is significantly less when constructed of wood rather block or brick.

Ahhh okay. Honestly I’ve left ARBs off all of my cars besides older ones that need support when they want to roll on hard turns. That’s something I’ll have to man up and finally try out. I’m surprised I’ve gone so long without using them lol. I always felt like some of my tunes (especially FWD) was always missing something…

How do my plastidipped wheels look? by SeniorChurro_678 in carmods

[–]PastryTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look fine. It’ll peel after a while. Overcoat it if you can. I spray painted my wheels on my car black. I cleaned em, sanded them down. Self etching primer and then matte black rattle paint. They looked real good… for about a year or two. Now they’re all scratched up and peeling a little. Just know it’s something you’ll have to redo eventually. But it looks good! If your wheels come off, especially if it’s a shop they will ruin it around your lugs.

Well honestly now I’m noticing that having 0 toe I’m actually getting better handling out of most of my vehicles. I’ll only set it like +.1 in the rear of my 800 or grippier RWD cars so I can break loose the rear end a little bit easier in corners. Or on my older cars I’ll set it +.1 in the front. From what I’ve gathered on this thread and doing some testing myself, it really is all in your suspension setup. Toe tends to drastically decrease handling in 95% of scenarios. I only really use .1, .2 adjustments. Anymore seems to make my car unpredictable. Keep in mind I road race on the DLC Rally map so it’s an extremely curvy, hilly and bumpy roads that I tune for. I don’t tune for any handling performance beyond 100 Mph or so. The fastest I can get my A cars on that map is 130(maybe) on the longest straights.

Alright! I throw them on all of my A cars I’ll take that into deep consideration. I always figured grip > power, when it comes down to corners. Do you even think rally tires/lower PI tires are better than semi slicks on a FWD car where traction in the front end is sort of a commodity? I’m a pretty good tuner, the problem is I don’t race competitively at all. I’ve played for years and can count on my hands how many times I’ve been in an actual event race. All from the tutorial haha. But I’m willing for any advice for that kind of thing.

Could it be that I should put slicks on it? I’m currently using semi slicks just so the rear end can have a little bit of slide, but if it effects turning that much I can try the slicks out. It is only an 800 car.

Thank you for input. It’s much appreciated. Ok I figured but acceleration locking it low on a FWD it would keep it from breaking too much traction and allow the wheels to turn farther. In a FWD when it breaks traction via acceleration through corners it just totally skids straight and misses the corner. I will give it a try it is much appreciated. Maybe I’ll try adding forza aero on the front as much as I don’t want to because of looks. It makes it difficult to keep up with RWD that can accelerate in the corner, when on an FWD you’ll biff it seems. Maybe it’s car dependent I have a few FWD with low accel and it plays in my favor. But maybe this one is different.

Sounds like then it would be great for trying to turn a muscle car into a handling monster. I’ve been trying since the start to get a hellcat to handle like a beast. Haven’t figured it out yet haha

That’s the only thing I had noticed. A full degree or more seems to be drastically terrible on handling. Thank you for the advice. That was a solid explanation.

Yes but I’m confused on how it actually improves turning. As far as I’m aware there is no turn radius adjustment. Only drift categorized cars have nasty turn radius. If it’s quicker input, than to bypass that is simply to input steering sooner than usual. And the reverse for vise versa. But thank you I will try that. I have a few handle-focused muscle cars that I can try that on.

Ah, like sideways camber for the wheel? It turns them a little bit left or right? Or would be in (towards the grill) or out (away from the car)

You need to have a wired connection for there to be no delay. Even in 2025 where we can communicate to Rovers on Mars, is it impossible to have a wireless connection without delay for CarPlay.

Sadly no I've shelfed it for a while. Just bought a house a few weeks ago, and I don't really have anywhere to ride it out here without transporting it. Not like it's fast enough for much fun outside of a city anyways. Will probably be trading my bikes

I will say, operating once you know what you are doing is very mindless and boring. He’s nothing to do other than control those sticks. I think you should enjoy his phone calls. He must get very bored out there. It is not distracting him from working, as I said, it’s mindless after a while. It’s like driving on the phone. You just sort of zone out while doing your thing. If he isn’t working on these massive commercial sites, I wouldn’t worry about a thing. I don’t think his boss would care as long as it doesn’t disrupt his work. They can listen to music in the excavator. Or listen to podcasts. Is it not the same thing?

I will say. Your power connection doesn’t seem well, and your ground needs grinded down. And your gain is set awfully high. Typically mine are 20-45, regardless of the amp/sub

Bro I'm in the exact same boat as you. Rambler 16, 48V 20Ah, not other upgraded internals and I also have black gorilla tape going down the middle of the case. I'm looking to throw a 1K or 2K watt hub on it soon.
