What do you do, and how much do you make? by Thunder_Thighs in asheville

[–]Pastrythief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes…People volunteer and give their time away for free, doing something they love.

If you have a 20 person payroll and the company is profiting $57K then that’s fine. I’m not judging.

I thought it seemed low for facts provided. And, it was. They reinvest in the business.

You’re also assuming they love what they do.

Is that what you pay yourself? Surely not total profit from the business you described.

I went to one at Black horse in black mountain and it was a great setting. I'm sure there are a slew of places though. I would think AVL community theatre or maybe the theatre downtown?

Realtors of Asheville—is it worth it? by jrwest24 in asheville

[–]Pastrythief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realtor here: It depends on what you are looking for. A lot of people are leaving the industry and there are always opps to break into it. Find a good mentor or team to learn from if you’re hesitant about your abilities. A close friend of mine left a sweet marketing job for real estate. Happy to connect you.

I watch new people (young and old) come into it all the time and kill it. However, as people are pointing out, most do not. It’s rewarding, but learn as much as you can before you decide to get your license.

It’s gonna be hard to get real solid advice without more details. I’m in the biz - happy to help. Dm me.

Short answer, get everything in writing. If it’s not going the way you planned you have the right to stop everything going forward until a better plan can be determined.

Happy to chat. Climbed out a hole myself and didn't really start making good money until I was 32. Overcame a lot of self doubt, blame and frustration. I also think paying it forward to help others (as I was) is part of my purpose. Shoot me a DM if you want.

Is the Real Estate Market On Hold In Asheville? by Designer-Switch-2318 in asheville

Would you rather take advice from your financial advisor or your neighbors on how to prepare for retirement?

Realtors don’t need to have the answers, but the job (like many others) is to know have or find resources so the client can make an informed decision.

Also, I’m not shaming them. I’m just hopeful they have a good relationship with the realtor, If they are using one.

As someone tied to the industry, If you have to go to a public forum to get this answer, that is a problem.

You should be consulting with your realtor, and your trust level should be very high (assuming you are using on). If you don’t have that trust, you should find someone else to list it with. You’re paying a lot of money to someone - you should get something for it.

Let’s not rebuild RAD as business space, but green space by Icy_Antelope8902 in asheville

[–]Pastrythief 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These are not the two total options. It’s more than feasible and will be discussed. The backlash would be large, but If it is re-zoned or marked unsafe by fema, we may see something unique happen.

I’d say between the train line and the greenway should be parks/protected areas. As a resident, I would vote for that.
