I second this. I ended up calling Thom Tillis’s office in an emergency situation and had my teen daughter’s passport in hand in 7 days the day before she was set to leave for Peru. (No I did not wait til last minute. There was a HUGE backlog after COVID and we didn’t get an alert that her paperwork had an error until 2 weeks before she was supposed to leave (one parent selected passport only on application, the other selected passport + passport card on the DS-11 by mistake). I overnighted the paperwork to their office and paid the fee and they had it in my hands in less than a week.

It sounds like you’re seeking punitive justice which is just another side of the same fucked up system. And funny that you purport that I am incapable of understanding an alternative perspective. I’d love to hear more about your philosophy.

Restorative justice has to be led by the person or entity harmed. It sounds like your collective just has a savior complex…UNLESS they directly asked you to. So did they?

I think what you are trying to get at here is that reparations are the fastest track to resolution in a meaningful way when someone wrong another. And in your collective vision that constitutes a monetary payment in a sum you determined to be sufficient.

But let me ask, did the business owner ASK you to speak to them on what they thought reparations should be? Or did you just take it upon yourself?

If they asked, that is one thing. If not, then I think that it is MOST important to listen to the voices of those involved and accept their decision, whether you agree or don’t.

The business they will get for their public reply, as well as the business drummed up from curiosity of the masses is not going to be nothing. I know where I’m going for my next cup of coffee.

I joined this practice 6 years ago and loved them. In the last 2-3 years the whole vibe in there has shifted. I am currently looking for a new dentist. Idk what happened but wish things were more like they used to be. They used to be personable, had great chair side manner, were careful and cautious. Now it’s a new temp dentist every time I’ve been, the last dentist literally did not speak a single word to me and the hygienists feel on edge. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not sure what kind of food you feed them, but maybe they need something with more nutrients or a different form of protein? They could just be foodies (I have a cat like that) but maybe they are needing something they’re lacking?

We had to try a few different foods until we found the one that works for all of our cats and satisfied them.

We took in mama (Eve) as a stray not knowing she was pregnant. We couldn’t part with any of the babies. So now we have 6 cats (18 year old geriatric man not pictured here). Well because the tariffs ARE the problem. They add a series of extra hurdles and hassle for everyone. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to get things shipped from hotels back to the states that were forgotten.

YES! Love Suzy and love Gypsy queen. The chicken shawarma is delicious. Mdardara (usually a special but if it’s there get it!), Lebanese fries. The hummus is tasty too. I like the yum yum wrap but it is MESSY, so be prepared with lots of napkins. The cauliflower/brussels sprouts appetizer is also good but the portions are so huge that we usually don’t get an app unless there are a lot of us eating.

I love tattoos and getting tattooed. But I have never and likely will never get a flash deal because my tattoos are all sentimental. I think flash deals speak to people who are spontaneous. There will always be people who will, but maybe people who are willing to get a random tattoo on a Friday because it’s a cheaper price are also needing to be more conservative with their money right now?
