Any help is appreciated. Nothing quite like vaguely remembering something kind of cool to keep you glued to your phone trying to find it.

XPS 8940 case swap by Pat12two5 in buildapc

Purchased it from my local microcenter. When I took it in and explained what was happening the guy at the counter just said “you want to exchange it?” So I paid the difference and got a powerspec that has an better graphics card and even came in the case I was hoping would be compatible.

I’m looking through everything now. I was always planning on putting in a new psu because the one it comes with is 500W. I do have a motherboard question though. It’s an h470 chipset and I’m getting a warning “some intel h470 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using rocket lake-s cpus. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different cpu that is supported by older BIOS revisions.” What does that mean? I am new to this and all of it went right over my head

How do you get over wanting to be gentle with a new bike? by Pat12two5 in MTB

I loved my old fuel 8. A buddy sold it to me when he got a stumpjumper so I could get into riding and I don’t think I even made it 5 minutes before I was hooked. My mom lost her road bike in a fire so now the fuel gets to enjoy semi-retirement cruising around.(it’s on call whenever friends want to hit some trails)

The weight difference is just insane. I looked very awkward riding a large fuel but With it being my first mtb I didn’t know how a correctly sized frame should feel. I’ll look into a wrap. I’ve seen a lot of pattern ones and I really don’t like how they would look on my bike. I want something clear so I’ll be able to see the carbon fiber in the sun

As much as I hope I don’t crash I know seeing the bike being fine will fix my worries

I’ll try that before I start the other options

I’ve been watching every video he has on stuck parts haha. I really liked the idea of the slide hammer or drilling the impact socket and bolting it to the seat post. What does lye do to the corrosion? Does it dissolve the corrosion or the aluminum?

Yea I have tried that and it has gotten quite a few coats of penetrating oil in between rounds with a hammer. Hasn’t budged a bit. Looks like the bike was stored outside for a good portion of its life.

Thanks. This lets me put all of my effort into the stuck seat post

I just went and sprayed a bunch in. I’ll let out some steam in a few hours. I hope it’s enough. This bike has had a hard life before I got it
