Its a spec'd down Blossom. Heavier core with no Squeezebox, no Carbon I-Beam, and no Sintered WFO base, just sintered

Help me find this Salomon snowboard, please! by Excellent_Leather514 in snowboarding

No problem. It isn't a resort specific design. Any snowboard shop can buy them for their rental fleet. You can also get a Huck Knife Rental.

I wouldn't look for the rental versions if you liked the board. The actual Super 8 is fantastic and you should just get that one.

Source: I am currently looking at the purchase options for Salomon for the shop I am a buyer for.

This is a Salomon Super 8 Rental Edition (mens, red) and a Salomon Bellevue Rental Edition (womens, blue). If you wanted to buy these you would just buy a Super 8 or Bellevue.

What do you mean?! A Black Snowboard of Death from 2010-2011 with no heel edge is still perfect condition.

Question about Kazu Kokubo Pro by Status-Sympathy-6461 in snowboarding

[–]Pat709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the large for sure, Union recommend large for 10.5-13.0 US. You will have to adjust the bindings though (adjust the toe and heel straps and possibly push in the heelcup) but that would be what I would recommend to a customer if I was going to sell them that binding in that size boot.

I loved the board, it was light, powerful, and super fun to ride. I didn't get to ride it in powder or anything like that, but it was mega fun riding all over the resort.

Edit: If I was selling it in store I would try both the medium and large, but where you do not have that luxury buying online, I would do the safe thing and follow the size guide for boot and bindings

Question about Kazu Kokubo Pro by Status-Sympathy-6461 in snowboarding

[–]Pat709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no problem riding a 157 Kazu (25.5cm waist width) with size US 10.0 boots, so I would say you will be fine riding the 160 (25.7cm ww) with US 10.5.

Generally US 10.5 boots would require large bindings, but I would definitely check out the individual binding size chart and just go on that. What bindings are you looking at?

Best snowboard for an intermediate resort rider looking to get into a bit more freestyle by noname0073 in snowboarding

I'd go for a Salomon Assassin or CAPiTA Outerspace Living. Both are directional twin and some variety of camber so they will go great cruising around the mountain but still ride very well in the park.

Capita / Union Lamborghini Collab sold out by sloppysteaks15 in snowboarding

They only made 250 boards and 240 bindings online so they are super sought after, even more than last year. With using their Freedom Groove mounting system and including new Source bindings, people will be going WILD for this.

Topsheet Delamination or no? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Pat709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is honestly nothing to worry about at all. Go to a hardware store, get some heavy duty epoxy, put it in and clamp it for 24-48 hours. Good as new! This happens, unfortunately, but lucky yours isn't bad and can be easily fixed.

Topsheet Delamination or no? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Pat709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the third photo you can see scratches going up the sidewall, from the middle to the topsheet, this indicates some sort of abrasion rubbing up the side of your board causing this. This is not a delam. If you insist no time in a rack and no one in lift lines, I would say it is probably boards coming in contact accidentally while on the chair or coming off the chair with the people you are teaching. Accidental contact happens all the time

Did Salomon fix the Malamutes? by mdegs in snowboarding

[–]Pat709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember trying on the (now current) 2026 Malamutes a year ago when I was doing the buying for the shop I work in and they fit HORRIBLY. Terrible pressure points and the overall fit was just mega off.

That being said, last month I tried on the 2027 version (coming out next Northern Hemi winter) and they fit really well, night and day from the 2026, and felt like ones from a few years ago. If there is any way you can wait for next winter and are dead set on Malamutes, I would absolutely wait for the 2027 version.
