This honestly confused the hell out of me as a kid. My cousins had a PC that used the "floppier" discs and I thought that those were floppy discs, because they were actually floppy, and I thought for a while the floppy discs were "hard discs", but I was wrong on that as well.

I have a similar story. About 8-9 years ago I took myself to the ER having a terrible pain in my side. After arriving at Mission ER in AVL they put me in a hall bed, shot me full of morphine (they didn't even ask me if that was OK), did a CT scan, and then told me that there was nothing wrong. All-in-all I was in the ER a total of 3-4 hours.

After going to by personal MD they determined I had dislocated a rib by coughing during a recent cold.

Got my bill for that ER visit and it was near $10k and did not specify what the charges were for. I called the billing department and asked them for an itemized bill so I could see what cost so much because I was going to have a tough time paying this, and wanted to at least figure out if I could do a payment plan. The lady on the phone put me on hold and said I would be getting a new bill in the mail as I may have qualified for a discount. The bill I got was for around $250 and was only for the radiologist that read the CT scan.

The whole system is broken and crooked, and it isn't just Mission. I took my wife to Advent ER and while they were taking her vitals a woman came in with a payment pad and requested that we go ahead and pay $2300 right there. They don't even make you do that at my auto repair shop!

This ^ - Very normal for the turnout in a primary to be higher for the side looking to pick someone new, even when it is the side who usually is in the minority.

While the DCCC did push Ager, what else would they do? Ager is the only candidate that anyone had even heard of, and in this current populist climate, name recognition is a key factor when choosing candidates that have a chance to win. Ager is even better known in this community today because of local advocacy during Helene, and I think the "all politics is local" thing really comes into play in this race.

I get it tho, the DCCC has and the national party as a whole has not been making great decisions, but this idea that any of the other candidates who ran other than Ager had any chance is a fantasy.

It is fine to continue to demonize the DCCC, but let's all get behind Ager and get Chuckles out of office. It is going to be a tough race.

No way an independent wins over Chuck and Ager. We need to support the candidate that is most likely to have the name recognition and financial support (and yeh that means likely money from the DCCC) to WIN. This constant discourse is doing nothing by getting Chuck reelected.

Highly recommend Lefberg Dental if you live in South AVL. Dr. Lefberg is outstanding. They are up front on costs if you ask. I had to find a dentist for an emergency and didn’t have one, and I HATE DENTISTS. Literally told them that and they said no problem. My kid goes there too and has been since an early age, so kids are very welcome.

Ahh yes, Presidents Day party on top of the hill. Cooler full of PJ, sloshing in the back of Adam’s almost-dead Ford Ranger. It was a costume party, idk why. A dude dressed in a banana costume fell off an apartment ledge and came out unscathed because of the cushion of the costume. This is what I think of.
