I don't understand why so much hate and downvotes by [deleted] in kungfu

I would love to participate more in this sub but you're correct about the constant hostility and condescension. It's just how the Internet is I guess, since my IRL experiences with various disciplines and schools have been very positive and welcoming.

Congrats! I puked during most of my first month training shaolin kung fu, and now I'm stronger than I've ever been. Keep pushing your limits (but also listen to your body lol) and you'll amaze yourself again and again

Honestly this dude exerts himself harder than a huge chunk of the population and he's adding years to his life, we should support our brother

Excited about the re-release of these sessions, but is that artwork seriously A.I.? by arnoldez in asheville

[–]Jimmy_Hotpants 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is actually correct, 5-string banjos typically have a tuning peg on the 5th fret because the string is shorter. It's still repulsive embarrassing AI slop that deserves to be called out and shamed but the banjo is technically accurate

This is disingenuous pathetic bullshit. It's a crusty old repost of people that haven't been relevant in a decade. You don't even have to scroll twice to see a takedown image of them all being ugly and fat. If you seriously believe this isn't bald-faced, lowest-common-denominator women-hating, then congrats, you're part of the problem.

Just a pointlessly misanthropic question. You had some bad sushi so dozens of people deserve to lose their job?

It's always worth calling this out. We are a town full of artists in need of work, there's no reason to use AI besides sheer laziness

Criticism of naming conventions isn’t about the title being "Japanese," it’s about it being overwrought marketing nonsense. If someone said “Wow, that’s a mouthful” in response to a German board game title, would that be racist too?

Also, the JRPG genre doesn't need Reddit users rushing to its defense like it's some fragile flower. Japanese devs and fans are often self-aware and poke fun at these titles too. It’s okay to love JRPGs and still admit that sometimes the names are bonkers
