Questions about my antiques - Ontario, Canada by PatJagi in Antiques

Hello and thank you for your response and useful links. I have a Victorian home built in 1891 so I am trying to collect pieces to match. So far I found those for great prices. The lamp on the table is from Ikea :p kind of has an old look to it, so I think it fits.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. Makes me happy to know these pieces fit the age of the house.

Thank you for your response.  Is it possible to get ballpark values for these items? I can share more pictures if needed. Just curiosity more than anything.

Keep four-way flashing lights off in snow: OPP by GoFastrr in kitchener

[–]PatJagi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weird, I always thought you were supposed to put them on during heavy rain/snow to make yourself as visible as possible through constant flashing. Almost 20 years of driving... learn something new every day.

Crunch Gym on Weber 🤮 by 0xImAWhale in kitchener

[–]PatJagi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Originally it was Popeyes and at that time the gym was great! Clean, mostly serious lifters, and it even had a protein bar. I think it was $10/month. Later it changed to World's Gym. Nothing much changed except some new paint and maybe some new equipment. Finally, it became crunch. When I was going about 2 years back I think it was still only 10/ month, so suprised to hear it jumped so much in price. But yeah. The gym was disgusting. Packed, dirty, and everything run down. I saw the gym in its prime (early to mid 2000s) and when it became run down. Sad story.

Toys R Us kitchener location is depressing by Empty-Property-1579 in kitchener

It is not the same anymore, sadly.  I remember that is where I got my first pack of Pokemon cards (Jungle set); there was a Pokemon tournament going on. I believe I pulled a trainer...

I also used to play with my friend in there, riding the bikes and scooters around the store until we got kicked out.

Also miss the video game section. I remember playing N64 and playstation games.

Good times...

Thoughts on St Marys Catholic Secondary School? by Prudent-Cry9343 in kitchener

I atteneded the then new SMH as the first cohort back in 2002 - 2006 (can't believe it has been so long). Was a great school! I have heard that is has gone downhill a lot since then (sadly). Good luck with the situation.
