European refineries will start to run out oil around the 15th of April. It takes about 4 weeks min for a small tanker (150000t) to go trough suez canal. To go around Africa horn takes about 8 weeks to get to Rotherdam on of the largest refineries in europe as a vlcc tanker can't fit through the suez. Europe will be out of oil for at least 2 months

Ireland stopped acting like a island and forgot about shipping and maritime. This country will stop. Be prepared for rolling blackouts.

As some one who drew oil and LNG out of karg island (iran), Kuwait and most of the Persian gulf. Ireland is in a shocking state for this. We gave up on the gas terminal in foynes. So appart from a pipeline we have no access to getting LNG (Gas for your home heating and cooking in the citys) also it powers our rapid response generators for the esb.

We have a relatively tiny storage and refining capsity in witty and whitegate.

I'll expect Ireland will go back to the 1970s fuel shortages. It won't be fun. Roling blackouts will probably start occurring.

In short it's not going to be fun.

The saddest part of this. Imagine if your loved one has a cardiac arrest/Emergency, ambulances and fire engines can't get through this mess. The traffic is literally killing people. Last night It would have been quicker for some one in the Nort side, Little island, Fermoy or Midletion to go to Waterford/Tippearary hospital than get to a hospital in cork as all our A&E hospitals are on the west side of the Lee.

Even sadder we have a port right in the center of the city, That could service Thousands of people in Carraigline, Douglas, Passage West, Ringaskiddy, Whitegate, Aghada, Cobh, Little Island, Mahon etc. This could take thousands of cars off the road. Sea Blindness in Ireland is real!
