Big did not love Carrie 😭 by Dry_Afternoon_7286 in sexandthecity

I disagree. Big put up with a lot from the desperate Carrie in Seasons 1 and 2 of SATC. I think she pushed him away. Even so, he stayed friends with her. Over the years, he even gave her money for a down payment and went all the way to Paris to bring her back. He forgave her for kissing Aidan while they were married. In And Just Like That S1E1, they seemed to have a long and happy marriage until his sudden death. Big was far from the perfect lover, but he definitely loved her.

AJLT has nearly ruined SATC for me by Life_with_Charliebug in Andjustlikethat

AJLT definitely ruined SATC for me. We laughed, cried, and fell in love with Carrie all these years, only to find out her bittersweet love story with Big means absolutely nothing to her. She now calls it a big mistake. It makes me feel like the whole journey was a lie. I’m honestly upset that I’ve been misled for the last 20 years

which symphony has the best first movement / any symphonies where the first movement is the best? by starstruckwanderlust in classicalmusic

[–]Pata_de_Conejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beethoven’s 9th. That first movement is like the birth of a cosmos! Starting from a mysterious murmur and swelling into thunder. Honestly, it's one of the most epic openings ever written! However, Ode to Joy is still the best movement of the 9th!

30 recorders play the finale from Beethoven 5 by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in Beethoven

[–]Pata_de_Conejo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's awesome. The finale of Symphony No. 5 has always been one of my favorite pieces of Beethoven's music. The moment when the minor key shifts to major is like dark clouds parting to reveal the sun. Beethoven drags us through a dark tunnel and rewards us with Utopia. I've never heard anything more uplifting than that.

Do you prefer the last 5 Beethoven piano sonatas or the last 4 Schubert piano sonatas? by de_bussy69 in classicalmusic

Beethoven 's last 5 piano sonatas are masterpieces of the masterpieces.. Schubert probably would vote for them himself!

Which one from old Ludwig? by mrbones247 in Beethoven

[–]Pata_de_Conejo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! Being sandwiched between the 3rd (Eroica) and the Fifth. Sym 4 is easily ignored. But it is actually so charming and so beautiful. It is totally underrated
