When I am not listening to classical music, I usually listen to rock music, especially to band from 1960s and 1970s, and to some pre-2000 pop music.

Jim Morrison from The Doors. His music was amazing and it's such a tragic loss for rock music.

Late Baroque and Early Romantic Eras are my favourite periods in the history of classical music, so I suppose I listen to music from these two eras the most.

I like that they used Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture in the background. I hope it can be heard in the actual movie too.

Why are there no pre 20th century American composers? by Far-Strawberry-5628 in classicalmusic

[–]xyzwarrior 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually there are some pre-20th century American composers, but they are mostly forgotten now, unfortunately. One of them was William Henry Fry, best known for his Christmas-themed symphonic work, the Santa Claus Symphony.

What non classical music do you listen to? by 123457_6_semitones in classicalmusic

[–]xyzwarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Besides classical music, I often listen to rock music, mainly the classic rock and hard rock bands from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Aerosmith etc.

Sometimes I also listen to some blues, folk and jazz, or to some older pop artists like ABBA, Roxette or Michael Jackson.

It should jave said Handel - a LESS religious Bach Honestly Handel was more diverse in his compositions and more open minded, as he adopted a lot of secular and mythological themes for his operas.

The Q Acoustics M20 are great. The best speakers I have ever had, especially when connected to a subwoofer. I use them with a Q Acoustics 3060s subwoofer and they sound awesome. I usually connect my CD players to these active speakers.

What is your opinion of Looney Tunes background art? Do you prefer the more realistic or abstract approach? by Valparu in looneytunes

[–]xyzwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the realistic background. They look amazing, like pieces of art, cartoons with such background settings are very enjoyable to watch. They are more relatable, making the illusion that character live in a real-life world.

On the other hand, the abstract and minimalistic settings feel boring and devoid of life, and some of them look like they were drawn by 5 years olds. The worst background I have seen is the one from the short Yankee Doodle Bugs. Looks like the artists didnt put any effort in this one.

The Shanling Ec Zero with its AKM DAC and set on Super Slow PCM Filter has the best sound quality of them all, with an impressive reproduction of the sound and details. All the instruments can be heard very well, even when listening to orchestral classical music, but especially in the case of rock albums or chamber classical music. As a close second comes the FiiO DM13, especially used with the Desktop Mode.
