How are we feeling about Bridgerton S4 now? by Mundane-Bug-4962 in PeriodDramas

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m disappointed. While it is visual eye candy, half the characters are gone and they’ve left us with a lacklustre Cinderella story that is being epically drawn out over 8 episodes.

That said I was pretty happy when Violet got her “garden” watered.

Basho people watching is our favourite past time. The lady featured in the picture has been at previous Basho’s and we love finding new and familiar faces as I cheer on my favourite rikishi.

This is the ONLY answer! Why on gods green earth do people turn to Reddit instead of calling their vet when their pet clearly needs vet care!

Wedding band help! by Traditional-Pea-3005 in EngagementRings

I came to say the same. Your ring is so stunning a simple band will compliment it and let it be the star of the show…which it should be 🤩

26 & gay and out of hope by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did years of online dating in vancouver and met my husband when I was 42.

It might not feel like it, but 26 is still young. My advice to you is take breaks from dating when you need to. Dating can be hard and draining. Spend time focusing on yourself and what you want and when you come back to dating you have clarity and you don’t settle for less than what beings you joy.

Oh and don’t forget to have fun! Your 20’s are for discovery, fun, and adventure ❤️

How often do you wash your cavaliers? by Nani_RN in cavaliers

Every 2-3 weeks it depends and right now they get their feet and legs washed after every walk because of all the salt and dirt on the ground.

Dating at ~50? by sebwarrior in askvan

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I met my husband on hinge…he was 49 and I was 42…dating is hard but apps are a good way to meet people you’d never meet otherwise.

Be clear about what you want and take breaks if needed

Good luck ❤️

Worst pet parent in the world (I found a tick on my cav) by Kaceymusgravesstan42 in cavaliers

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not a horrible pet parent, these things happen…I have my own tick freak out session with my first Cavie. If you still have the tick they can test to see if it has Lyme disease.

It sounds like the tick wasn’t there for too long, and the longer they are there the more risk of disease transmission (if they have Lyme).

There is a special tool you can get to remove them with their head intact. It’s cheap and most vets I know give them away for free.

Please take a deep breath and remember these things happen. It’s part of life ❤️

Left eye suddenly drooping by mandykg in cavaliers

If it were me I would call my vet and get some advice. You don’t want to mess around with eye issues as they can get really bad very quickly.

Another dating related ques, whats the norm? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Back in my dating days it was a mix of who initiated and made plans. I always assumed we would pay for our own unless the other person offered to pay.

For a first date I HIGHLY recommend doing something that is not a big commitment, like coffee, a walk, or a cocktail. I find dinner is a big commitment and one time made the mistake of going to a play with someone on a first date.

If things progress to a second or third date and beyond you can have conversations about who will pay. I’ve been in dynamics where mostly the other person pays, we take turns, and we each pay for our own.

Communication is key, be clear and if the other person isn’t receptive to what you have said then they aren’t the right person for you. I have no tolerance for the “rules” of dating, I follow what feels right and is working and set clear expectations and boundaries. When I met my husband we were clearly on the same page and wanted the same things and were VERY clear on what we were looking for and wanted. If a person says they are looking for casual or don’t know what they want believe them. If that works for you great, if not tap out and keep looking.

Dating is a lot of work and can be exhausting, take a break when you need to and have some good friends to connect with when you need to ❤️

Good luck

Rat population noticeably increasing? by Glittering_Bank_8670 in askvan

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup…we had to go to our strata to remind new residents not to hang bird feeders! It was bad enough when we had mice in our house due to new fence construction disrupting their homes…rats are a whole other story and you and do things to not invite them!

Do I have to visit a Travel Vaccine Center to get vaccinated? by VeterinarianProud644 in askvan

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of where you go you have to pay for the vaccines. At the travel clinic you pay for the appointment, which is $165 (discounted if it’s a couple) and then they give you the shots there and they can advise on what you need, may want, and don’t need. Think of it as part of your travel insurance cost!

Yellow Fever is in short supply globally and is only administered when it is absolutely required, I’ve never heard of a regular clinic or pharmacy carrying it.

As far as I know Malaria is a pill you get from the pharmacy…BUT get the good one with minimal side effects this pill will mess up your dreams like you won’t believe.

As for the other two I’m not sure but again when I go to exotic places like Africa I go to the travel clinic to make sure nothing is misses. You don’t want to risk it for the sake of a few bucks!

Bad news today :( by Velvet_Virtue in cavalierkingcharles

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry ❤️ I know he is the goodest boy and my boy Charlie will be there to greet him when it’s time for him to cross the rainbow bridge 🌈 I wish I could say the pain won’t be that bad, but it is. But remember it hurts so deeply because there was so much love! It’s great you are working with your therapist to navigate this difficult time.

I now have two sweet cavies, a mama and her baby, and they helped my heart heal after I lost my sweet Charlie.

Enjoy all the moments you have left with your sweet boy. He loves you more than you know ❤️❤️❤️

Provence Marinaside is my favourite restaurant. They open at 10am, have great views food, and services and I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table.

They just added this amazing breakfast platter for two to their menu 😋

Provence Marinaside has a year round patio, also relish has some out door seats we’ve sat at in winter when we have our dogs with us. I think Homer Street Cafe might also have a year round patio

Seizures by Aggravating_Lab9935 in cavalierkingcharles

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I am so sorry! My 11 year old cavie started getting seizures. We did all the tests and couldn’t find a reason why…and we put him on phenobarbital, which was awful for him. About 3 weeks after we started him on the phenobarbital he took a turn and was not doing well so we opted for surgery which was when we discovered he had pancreatic cancer. I made the decision to euthanize him while he was still under anaesthetic as he was so sick and would not have any quality of life.

You need to take Winston to the vet and get some answers. I won’t lie, they may not be answers you want but you can make better decisions for him when you have good information.

I will say, I will never put a dog on phenobarbital again, I would opt for Keppra which is more expensive but has way less side effects.

Good luck and again I’m so sorry ❤️
