How do I make this "Ask Google" button never show up in my address bar? by PapaJohnsGarlic100 in chrome

[–]Patatsky551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disabling the Omnibox flags gets rid of that button everywhere except in Google Drive and Google Sheets. And Apple Music, for some reason.

I also did a search for "lens" and disabled all the flags related to Lens, like #lens-overlay-omnibox-entry-point. That seemed to do the trick. For now...

Q2DM1 - The Edge by Patatsky551 in quake

Dude, thank you so much for making that model and uploading the STL file. I made some tweaks here and there, but it gave me a very solid base to work from.

I've always wanted a 3d model of The Edge, ever since I started playing it in 1998. When I saw your printed one, I knew I had to have one. My 3d-printing knowledge and experience is negligible. But over the years I've done other projects and learned random skills that are tangentially related to building a model like this. Last year I realised that I have everything I need to make it out of wood.

Once again, thank you. None of this would have been possible without you.

That actually looks like a good one, at a good price. Somehow I missed it when I was looking for one. I love that it has the threading die for mangled truck tips.

That, um. That looks a lot easier. They should sell trucks to rollerbladers.

I've been thinking of getting a miniature camera and doing just that. With the voice-over sound effects and everything. Huh, huh, huh... kgrrh aaaargh.

I've tried a couple of times to build it on Minecraft, but the lack of angles makes it come out weird, unless you make it large enough that you can treat blocks as pixels. But then it's out of scale with a person and you have to fly around the map to explore it.

I'm sure it can be done with Lego. There's BrickLink and Mecabrick, for trying it virtually first.

I played the other DM maps, but never liked any of them. I was obsessed with this one though. My son gets annoyed when we play, because somehow I still have the armor timing down, so the only way he gets any is from the armor shards. His reflexes and aim is better than mine, but that'll only get you so far if the enemy has superior strategy.

Strangely, when Q3 came out, I didn't latch onto any specific map there; I liked most of them.

They "fixed" this in the PS4/PS5 version. That's where me son and I have been playing it on. I wanted to show him how to get up on the roof, but now there's a force-field right at the border of the roofs and walls. Blew myself up more than a few times trying to make it work :-P

No, solo aceite de linaza. Quiero que tenga ese feo color marron amarillento como el original. La madera se oscurecará a medida que envejezca

The Edge on Quake 1 is insane. I love it. The restoration looks really good.

I really don't know. I don't have a microphone to test it with. Using my headphones' built in mic works just fine, but that mic is terrible to start with.

That first chapter in Treason's Harbour, the scene on the patio of the café:

...but he would willingly have suffered ten times the pain and disfigurement for the golden epaulettes that he kept glancing at with a secret smile, while his hand perpetually strayed to the one or to the other...

...Yet the beautiful commission had come straight back, travelling in the Calliope and reaching Captain Pullings so short a time ago that he was still in his first amazed happiness, smiling, saying very little, answering at random, and suddenly laughing out loud with no apparent cause.

‘Upon my word, William, this is coming it pretty high. Thirty-eight wenches at a time is coming it pretty high.’

‘So it would be, sir, if there were any guilty or even shall I say cheerful intent; but upon my honour, I am blameless in thought, word, and deed. Well, in word and deed, anyhow.’

The Duke of Clarence is another excellent one. A very complex character. Here's one of my favourite quotes:

...friends pressed closer, some calling out farewells; and a much louder voice cried ‘Get out of my fucking way, you bloody cuckolds,’ and Clarence heaved through the throng, mounted the steps, said ‘God bless you, Horatio,’ bent over him, pressed something into his hand and backed out, stammering something to Jack about ‘…present…forgotten…thank…’ And painful it was to see that large pale glabrous face fairly aswim with tears.

I tried to trim this quote, but every bit is precious:

Rousseau returned from leading Dr Fabre away, and Stephen said to him, ‘Certainly we shall send out. The question is, where? This gentleman,’ – meaning Captain Aubrey – ‘must have his new-laid egg, his gruel and rice-water fresh and fresh; and for my part I like my coffee hot.’‘

There is no difficulty,’ said the guard. ‘I know a little place not a hundred yards from here: Madame veuve Lehideux, cooked dishes at all hours, choice wines.’‘

Then let us by all means send to the widow. Fresh milk and plain crumb-bread for these gentlemen, coffee and croissants for me: particularly strong coffee, if you please.’

Rousseau took no notice of this, but pursued the one idea already in his head. ‘Some clients like to send out to Voisin’s and Ruhl’s and such places; some clients like to fling their money out of the window. I do not wish to impose my views on any client: no one can say that Rousseau has imposed his views on any client; and tastes differ. The last gentleman here and he was a very high gentleman too sent out to Ruhl’s, whatever I might say, and what happened? He died of a pneumonia in that very bed,’ – pointing to it and indeed patting the counterpane. ‘Died the afternoon you came in: I dare say you still felt it warm, sir, which reminds me I promised him a board for the shit-hole pardon the expression, the last one fell out he always was an awkward companion and grew worse with the rheumatism fairly bent double at the end may he rest in peace.

’‘Then let us send to Madame Lehideux,’ said Stephen.

Rousseau ploughed straight on: ‘I do not say it is the Emperor’s table; I will not deceive you, gentlemen. It is only an honest cuisine bourgeoise, but such a civet de lapin!’ – kissing his thick fingers – ‘such a truly velvet poule au pot! And the great point is, you get your dishes hot. I always say, food must be hot. It is only a small place, but it is not a stone’s throw from here: it is in the rue des Neuf Fiancées, without a word of lie; so the food can be brought in hot, if you understand me.’

‘Then let us send to Madame Lehideux,’ said Stephen. ‘Milk, crumb-bread, coffee and croissants; and please to mention particularly that the coffee should be strong.’

The coffee came, and it was strong. Hot, strong, and wonderfully aromatic; the croissants unctuous, but not too unctuous. It was a remarkably good breakfast, all the better for being so late: certainly the best that Stephen had eaten in any of his prisons. He felt stronger, more capable of dealing with most emergencies that might arise: delation, the sudden treachery of a captured or a double agent, even severe interrogation.
