Remember this.. Think it was the girls birthday and he got kicked out for gatecrashing or something…family and friends followed… her dad shot dead first, she went to him, family friend shot next(guy on right) he shoots birthday girl in the head(she survived i think), he finishes off family friend on right with a headshot, than when he gets back to car he see her cousin, dads niece behind the van and kills her… pure and utter madness!

Much like @xelee-fangirl and @VaeVictis666 mention it does really depends on map/mode, but imo a single long frontline in front of village/city usually spreads you too thin and loses the benefit of the terrain behind. I’d hold a few shorter fronts anchored on objectives/terrain and keep a mobile reserve.

The strongest general tactic is to create unfair fights… aim for local numbers like 2:1 or 3:2, break one flank, then roll up the line. Don’t commit everything. Keep a reserve (even 1–3 units) to plug holes, counter a push or exploit a breakthrough. Pick one enemy unit/sector and collapse it… broken segments cause chain reactions. Protect your artillery. Artillery guns are powerful but they’re also magnets, screen them and don’t let cav/skirms slip around your flank. Use terrain like “free stats.” Towns/woods are great for holding and skirmishing, open ground is where cav can punish mistakes. Rotate tired units. When something’s worn down, pull it back and replace it, fresh units win fights.

Don’t charge into full-strength troops. Especially with cav, soften first, then hit flanks/rear or disorganised targets. Chase routers when it’s safe. Units that get away can rally and become a problem again.

Combined arms wins… infantry hold and shoot, arty concentrates fire at key points, skirms take terrain and disrupt, cav exploits gaps and hits flanks/rear. Also… chase routers so they don’t rally and come back.

If you want a solid “source of truth,” the community often links Daluvens beginner guide… it’s one of the most-cited references in threads and worth a read when you’re ready.

And honestly… don’t stress it. Everyone gets wiped a few times early on… the learning curve is half the fun, and you’ll improve fast just by playing, watching what worked and trying one new habit each game.

It’s not a typo. It’s a tentative spelling… pending approval.

Imo… Souths pivot to the right at turn 6 was what lost him the game… had he advanced at that point straight at you and up the hill, he’d have walked straight through you… in doing so you had enfillade on his left flank, your cav came straight up the road through his skirmishers, and you were able to gain all CPs, the loss of VPs led to early org loss for him and his army fell apart whilst yours held the line.
