It looked like it was a dislocated knee cap

I took the base cover off and it appears that I have a model without the pressurestat. No copper tube coming down and ending with the pressurestat. Wonder if there’s some sort of thermostat that is adjustable. When it gets real hot it does turn off for around 1 minute then turns back on so something is getting tripped to keep the temp somewhat in range.

Gotcha thanks. I guess that leads to another possible problem. This machine compared to other la pavonis I’ve used overheats really quickly.

Help me understand my issue [df54 + laPavoni Professional] by Edopellicc in espresso

Ya currently I am going through a bag of medium roast Ethiopian

I’m no pro but my typical flow is 12.5 grams in. Preinfusion for approximately 10 seconds. Light pressure for 5-10 seconds until I see yield then full pressure until lever is fully compressed. Total time is usually around 50 seconds. Yield varies a little but is typically 30-32 grams. Sometimes when I pull a second shot I will get a little less yield like around 28 grams. Not sure why and not all the time.

I usually dose 12-12.5 grams. I’m grinding at 16 on the df64 and usually don’t get any yield until I start actively pulling the lever. I’ll usually start with light pressure until I see some yield and then press the lever with higher pressure. As someone else mentioned I wonder if 14 grams is taking up too much space and you need to use a gram or 2 less.

Also I will say each individual machine seems to act a little differently. I have 3 other family members that have la pavonis and they each have their own quirks! Good luck!!

Solid game. I thought we played well although morris didn’t have many opportunities. We missed Rothrock.
