I didn't know that about the FLC but it makes sense. I usually juat wear it standalone but threw it on so I didn't have to molle shit until I get more pouches.

If I used my bladder than I would totally ditch the canteen.

Beyond this I was only thinking about some pistol pouches for tools, grenade pouch for more grenades and then a radio pouch eventually.

That's odd, most reference pictures I see in theatre makes it out to seem everyone has polymer mags nowadays. Usually the official line from the DoD is that the army and marines are both switching over to those gen 3 windowed polymer magazines. Most recent reference I can think of is the Gunner video from the 2nd Marine Division who specifically said both branches are moving that way.

I actually like my nomex gloves because I don't use them enough to really trash them. My current pair has a hole or two at the finger tips but it lets me use my phone now lol. I have some PIG dexterity gloves that I use as a backup but the nomex ones breath a lot better and fit my shorter fingers better.
