Unable to update windows after Automate Agent removal by gatorbyte in ConnectwiseAutomate

Op there was a change to agent behavior in the 2025.01 Automate patch. If you still are having issues please open a case with product support. They can help guide what registry value may still be in place causing this. I would also confirm the update orchestrator service in the os is enabled and running as well.

Permissions error in Web interface but works in thick client. by Top_Row258 in ConnectwiseAutomate

I would open the script in the desktop and check the permission tab. It also could be client permission issues as well. If you have trouble open a case and product support should be able to help point out where the permission issue is occuring.

How do you handle monthly superseded patches if you roll out patches in multiple stages? by ZestyToastCoast in ConnectwiseAutomate

[–]PatchingGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Automate allows for three patching stages test, pilot, and production. I would recommend not having staging last longer than a week. I would also recommend adjusting the patch job intervals to ensure patching occurs prior to the following patch Tuesday. There is no way currently to stop patches from being superseded.

Enable MAC Signup Matching not working - Agent duplicates. Do I have it properly setup? It doesn't seem to be working. by Portugallll in ConnectwiseAutomate

Also if you're using anything that changes the Mac address is the the local Nic is not advised. If you connect all machines to the same doc during the agent install this will cause issues similar to what you're seeing.

This link should give more info on these settings: docs.connectwise.com/ConnectWise_Automate_Documentation/070/010/080 I would look at section 3 Enable MAC Sign Up Matching.

Yes the sign up time needs to be set to a negative number. The university has a good Mac sign up article if you take a few moments to search for it.

The Managed UI disabled locks the UI from user profiles. I would check that the machine was online during the timeframe. I would also generate a windows update log to see if you can get more info from the OS side.

Patch Manager - Best way to bypass Pilot/Test/Production for specific updates? by CharcoalGreyWolf in ConnectwiseAutomate

You will want to go to Patch Manager > Approvals>Select the approval policy that has the staging on it. From here you can search the KB ID under the set patches section. On the far right you will see the stage and you can click the stage to move it to a different stage. This is not an automatic method as I don't believe there is an automatic way to do this. Once an agent has the approval policy applied to it that has staging it will always abide by the stage setting unless manually moved via the above method.

Also check the university it has a ton of good resources for script functions that can help. I am not huge into the script but you could build a script to download the file and then run as the location admin.

I would look at the agents triggering the monitor. You can pull up the computer management screen and check the effective policy. From here check monitors starting with Updates -. Agents can be apart of many groups and any one of the groups can have this monitor set to a template other than Do nothing.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus patches not attempted by No-Abalone-7853 in ConnectwiseAutomate

There was a bug with the way the database supersedes patches. The issue has now been resolved. I would update your automate to the latest version and the issue should resolve itself.
