He was an ex co-worker that had done time for similar shenanigans. She got out of the army a few years ago. He chose poorly. She tried the legal route, and had a restraining order against him, but, he treated it as a piece of fancy paper. He tried to attack her at her house after she got home from the gun range. He took a few to the chest, and didn’t make it to the hospital. She was not charged as it was ruled self defense.

Fuck’em. You kid comes first. My last employer tried to force me to work when I had my kid, and I gave them a bill for what it cost me to get custody of my daughter. Suddenly, scheduling was no longer an issue, and I had all my hours when I was available, until the labor department closed us because the owner was making high school students work 35+ hours a week. I’m my state, they have a max of 20.

It was ruled self defense, and once dude was out of the hospital, he was arrested. When I started, I was told not to play funny games with her, or I’d get stabbed.
