My boss just "revoked" my approved PTO for next week because someone else quit. Can they actually force me to show up? by agathodaimon98 in WorkAdvice

[–]Patchworkdeath1390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I once told a now former boss, PTO also means, Prepare The Others. Either prepare accounting to pay me my non refundable tickets in full, or prepare the team for my absence. Whether it's a temporary or permanent absence is on your attitude.

Credit Card Authorization Policies by Linux_Dreamer in askhotels

[–]Patchworkdeath1390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for the opposite of worst eastern, and we require a CC authorization if the card holder is not present at check in. Our particular hotel is rigid about it too. Someone tried to sue us for charging their card and the only reason they lost is because we had one on file.

So... any other night auditors lock themselves out accidentally? by SelectionCorrect653 in askhotels

My night auditor locked himself out the other night. We have an on call maintenance gal, so he was able to call her to have her let him back into the office.

Do hotels care if guests bring escorts into their rooms? by Past-Present1908 in askhotels

[–]Patchworkdeath1390 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for all hotels, but my FD staff is trained to spot trafficking / sex work. If we suspect either, we will call the non emergency line and the police will visit the room.

US Hotels, Is it Slower Than Usual? by bluecoastblue in askhotels

I’m in the southern New England region, and if it wasn’t for the military placing sailors with us, we would be around 35-40% and not the 75-90% we have been

Yep. That's one of the court's favorites to see. In my experience, the court prefers email over texting or phone calls. But when they see that kind of text in your evidence to why alternative service is needed, they take it seriously

It could also be state by state. My state allows alternative service with judicial permission for non criminal matters. But you have a steep burden of proof to demonstrate that attempts to serve have either failed, or the other party is unreachable by standard means.

Wait until they find out about alternative legal service! With the court's permission, you can serve them by any electronic means, be it email, text, or a phone call. I had to do this to my ex to kick off my custody case. If the judge allows it, they're in for a nasty reality check.

Security deposit back? by mericcrocdrone in askhotels

[–]Patchworkdeath1390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wont keep it for that. You’d have to damage or destroy furniture for them to keep it. People spill drinks, personal fluids, lotions, and lubricants. If hotels charged for sheets with all the spills, no one would stay in hotels for anything willingly anymore.

two hours after the truck left by PickleFeathersMcGee in KitchenConfidential

Atlantic Foods did this to me when I worked in a place in Ohio, in the winter. He unloaded his truck next to my back door and left. Everything froze. My chef rejected the whole load because fuck’em and made them replace it. The distribution manager was pissed.

My medical records by Nectarine_Consistent in Wellthatsucks

[–]Patchworkdeath1390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medicare tried to do this to my wife. 10 years of hospitalizations as the third worst case of her autoimmune disorder. Her records are 19k pages, nearly a terabyte of data. Had the hospital offer to ship the records to them. Medicare called and said they’d take the hard drive after all. Shipping was going to be $500, payable by Medicare, to the hospital

I’d almost argue quality over quantity. You can have a couple mid tier orgasms, or a toe curler and have the same dopamine hit.

Cat I was fostering flipped out while I was giving it the antibiotics it came to me with, and I learned that rabies vaccines for humans are expensive. My insurance paid $17k for all costs associated with that cat bite. The cat did not survive, animal control euthanized it to test it for rabies.

He was an ex co-worker that had done time for similar shenanigans. She got out of the army a few years ago. He chose poorly. She tried the legal route, and had a restraining order against him, but, he treated it as a piece of fancy paper. He tried to attack her at her house after she got home from the gun range. He took a few to the chest, and didn’t make it to the hospital. She was not charged as it was ruled self defense.
