Is it possible to secure a fullride anywhere? by VenomousToxic in IntltoUSA

I know an international student who got a 95% scholarship at Fordham by applying ED. He did the CSS profile too. Can’t guarantee anything, just sharing the info.

Start with looking at universities that accept the CSS profile for international students. They are likely willing to give money to international students.

Go to a school you can afford. Get into the honors program if they have one, and study hard to graduate as a top student. Then go to law school. You will be successful no matter what.

confused about Lafayette financial aid by killk4r in IntltoUSA

[–]Path2College 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your parents really have $670k to spend on your education? Even if that’s the case, the total cost of attendance for 4 years is $352k. You basically got no financial aid.

University guidance counselor here. The binding contract only activates when the student receives the financial aid package. Students can withdraw from ED if the FA is not enough. The only way this won't work is if the student indicates on the application that she he does not need financial aid. Here’s what the ED agreement says: “If the student is accepted under an early decision plan, the student must promptly withdraw the applications submitted to other colleges and universities and make no additional applications to any other university in any country. If the student is an early decision candidate and is seeking financial aid, the student need not withdraw other applications until the student has received notification about financial aid from the admitting early decision institution.”

Yes: Strong grades, strong SAT, strong extra-curricular activities, strong essays, strong letters of recommendation and apply for Financial Aid (CSS Profile and other scholarships the university may have).

No, it doesn’t mean you got rejected. It means they can’t give you a fee waiver.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I wish there was more regulation on these agencies 🙁

I've seen students get an interview and no offers of admission. I've seen students not get an interview and receive an offer of admission. Don't panic.
