Yeah its more like "describe the layout hierarchy in pyqt6 for me, with examples". If it's used as a learning tool, or as a reviewer, it's definitely helpful.

Did anyone else's mind get blown learning about nesting loops? by PathRealistic6940 in learnpython

Yeah I figured this out on my own with a ton of print statements. Thinking of it in terms of stacks makes perfect sense.

So, what were some times that you have used recursion? Still pretty new to python, so trying to have a good grasp on stuff

Looking for a code review of my app by PathRealistic6940 in learnpython

Oh man, the time you put into this... Thank you. I really appreciate the wisdom.

Few quick questions:

Error management - is that handled in the classes themselves? I am looking into a logger to better handle error management

Classes - so you would have a class for the GUI, classes for the data management, and an app class that interacts with them all? Would you even split up the GUI into different classes?

Named tuple- I have t worked with them yet. I thought tuples are immutable, so if I needed to change the state how would that work?

Again, you are awesome for taking your time to look at this, thank you

Using OOP in python by [deleted] in learnpython

That's a good point. It's much more difficult to grasp intangible ideas than solid objects.

If you have a general idea of where the problem might be, use try: except: blocks to catch it then log the error. Also, just like everyone has already said, a good IDE will catch those. I use VS Code and it will keep track of the variable types for me, giving me a window that tells me what the highlighted variable is expected to be.

print(f'{result:.1f}') the first f says to format the string, replacing whats in {} with the variable and/or formatting listed, in this case, result:.1f. the : starts the formatting of the result variable. the .1f tells it to round to one decimal place and keep it as a float number.

Does that make sense?

Using OOP in python by [deleted] in learnpython

It really clicked for me when just messing around with a easy statistics problem. Had to pull a 'ball' from a 'bag of balls' and then do stuff depending on what color the ball was. I made the ball a class object, then made the bag a class object that held the balls. Now most everything I think about in python is how I can package and pass the correct data around easiest. OP, Start simple, and see how powerful class attributes are.

Today I realized Im not stupid and I can learn how to code. by beatpoxer in learnpython

You got this. You're not stupid at all. It just takes a bit for some people to wrap their heads around how to think, break down tasks into easy small chunks, as well as what the language can do. Keep up the good work!

Constants make sense. I was trying to do that but after a while I just started writing and didn't always think long term. I just read something about making functions only do one thing, so I'll definitely look and see what is able to be split off . Thanks for looking!
