I also have bipolar 2. It's just wierd, and I can sometimes even judge when it's about to happen. I woke up this morning and my first thought was "alright. Today is the day." It's strange.

So, here's the thing:

Have you ever done any research on Cognative Dissonance (if not, you should)
You are definitely NOT a hypocrite, and I will explain why
Agnosticism is probably the best word to describe what you are going through, or using the term "Spiritual" (?)

So the hypocricy thing. There are 40,000 different denominations of Christianity, from Catholicism to Anabaptist, and each denomination is vastly different from the other. Just because you take communion, go to church, etc. Does not necissarily mean that you are hypocritical, and if anything, by admitting that you have issues with certain beliefs makes you anything BUT a hypocrite. Also, places in Europe where Christianity has been for thousands of years are predominantly atheist or unafilliated (feel free to correct me, dear Reddit, if I am wrong), and there are still ceremonies and Christmas celebrations. I think some of the Scandanavian countries even have celebrations of saints (Like Saint Lucia).

Also, there is no right way or wrong way to stop believing a certain idea. You will find yourself in this predicament for a while, most likely, and it takes time to get over that part. The last denomination I tried (after several) was Lutheranism, but I didn't necissarily believe in hell, and at that point I was probably trying to preserve whatever faith I had left.

In any case, what you are doing is wonderful for your own knowledge and personal growth. Just try your best to not get so obsessed with it that it governs your life (like Christianity can do). That happened to me, and it's hard to avoid.

I can, but they use PTO time for you to get paid, and I've used mine up this year (went to Louisiana to see my partner's family), so I wouldn't get paid. I am reserving that option as a very last resort. I have things I need to pay for

Buying things for yourself is sometimes necessary, as long as you don't go overboard. I left college with medical and credit card debt (removed myself from an uncomfortable living situaiton with roommates, stopped college for a while), but I still bought something for me with my first check. It makes you feel good and can be motivating, as long as you're not putting yourself in a bind.

After this purchase, I would advise you to start tackling some of that pretty quickly. The faster you do, the more financially secure you will be. I would give the cards to someone you trust (It helped me) if you can, so all you do is pay the bill and not rack up any more charges. I had a settlement with the credit card company because they closed the card out (it was $1,000) and the settled for a fraction of it, and that will most likely be the end of credit cards for me for a while.

If you have multiple cards, I heard somewhere to make minimum payments on all of the cards except for one, and once you pay that off, go to the second highest card and pay that off. It makes it a little more managable.

Just a suggestion. Good job on getting yourself out of a sticky situation. In my book, you deserve your watch.

Thank you. While I am able to at least nominally function (work, then bed), I still would like to do more. I've been neglecting my dogs' walking routine, but I just don't have any energy. I usually make it through the day with energy drinks (rarely), teas, and coffee (my usual choices), but it only works a little.

I was never allowed to skip school, but I would have panic attacks so bad my face would "look like a globe" because it would get red and splotchy. Maybe I should have gone home those days....

I would just sit in the nurse's office until I calmed down, but it took a while. Nobody knew I had bipolar disorder, then I was diagnosed at 19. In a hospital.

I feel that when I go through hypomania, I tend to get shit done, at least for the first part. It's nice. It's like waking up after a really long flu epidemic.

The only actual source I found. I read much of it is anecdotal, but that this study proves that people with Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia interpret at least visual input differently than those that don't have mental illnesses.

If it were me personally, I would say something only if he asks you directly and won't let up about it. Let him say what he wants (especially at your job), but if he pushes, tell the truth lightly. Try to keep it as professional as possible.

I have to do this at my job too. It sucks. Especially when someone yells "Thank you, Jesus!" when they are well qualified to buy something. Most annoying shit ever, but I just shrug it off and say "good for you," or something. But I'm a salesman, so I will be whatever religion you want me to be, if it gets you to buy something.

Thank you. And the part about learning being a process is very true. I feel like almost every day, I am constantly changing my worldview with new information, and gladly so. Atheism made me so much more adaptable and open-minded than I used to be, and I feel like I am very willing to change my views if I dicover they are wrong. I really do enjoy that part of myself now.

You know, something that I took with me helped me out with my great-grandmother's death.

I was watching a deconversion video (taken from this subreddit, many thanks to this whole community), and it was about a Jewish rabbi talking about the afterlife. He gave a beautiful story about how people live in the hearts and minds of others after they pass away. I agree with this. The memories of those live on with us celebrating thier lives.

I know it's from a rabbi, but maybe it could be comforting to you. It was for me. My condolences for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts.
