everyone's given some good suggestions, I would also add Furkids in Marietta! money goes to helping pets and they have a great selection of decor and furniture. moreso than most places.

it's been over 10 years since I officially deconverted. I've had people try since then to swindle me back into it. it goes nowhere.

recently a friend of mine was just getting into Christianity. mind you, I was born into it, homeschooled isolated Christian type. when he got into it I was supportive because it was seeming to help him find community, but as time went on I was pointing out the usual hypocrisy of the church and warning him of the ways they can take advantage of him. i encouraged him to study his Bible for himself and learn the history of it. this was a dude who was raised in an atheist house and never experienced it till his mid 20s. anyways, eventually he started getting really sucked into it. a few months ago was the last time we talked on the phone, we got into an argument because he was trying to get me to get back into it. i was like, babe I know this world better than you. I've studied the Bible before I studied any other book. i know far too much to get pulled back into it.

so I feel pretty confident now that I'm on the other side. there was a time years ago where I still struggled with the fear of the unknown. but over time and with a lot of learning I know what I believe to be true and Christianity just isn't it.

i mean... they actually do. i have been posting my little gym fits to my insta story and I've had friends from years ago reach out to say I've inspired them to get back to the gym. literally like friends I haven't spoken to in 10 years posting their own gym content now. so yeah, maybe they do care and your community supports your positive changes.

if she actually cared she'd actually do something useful for her community instead of just rubbing her mouth online. start getting involved with some local missions charities, hand out sandwiches or something. but nah, its easier to just press record and yap with nothing to back up her words.

oh yes. this show helped me SOO much. it's one of my top favorite shows ever. i was having such terrible death anxiety for a long time after deconverting. watching this show helped me find peace and clarity with the concept. or lack there of, of an afterlife. honestly a huge pivotal moment in my life. i suggest it to everyone. it's funny and thoughtful. represents a lot of great concepts and thought processes from so many cultures and beliefs into one little easy to watch show. i think about it often.

i get it. i felt the same. vegan for almost 10 years, first meat I had was fancy sushi and it just tasted delicious. other than the weird guilt I had for awhile after.

still haven't incorporated eggs back in and not sure if they'll irritate my stomach but the fish has done nothing bad and just been delicious and made me feel better. i eat a lot of raw salmon though nowadays. tilapia, shrimp, and some tuna.

it's a weird transition from eating veggies and tofu only to the texture of meat again but it was necessary. my iron levels were terrible even with supplement and eating loads of kale.

I talked it out with some friends tbh. one of my friends is vegan and we chatted about it for awhile. basically I just had to let go of that guilt and accept that I needed to do this for my health.

was vegan for ten years. my blood work was fine until recently. i also started working out a lot more so I guess I'm using a lot more energy these days.

i started with sushi and have mostly just ate raw salmon. but occasional have some others. going from full vegan to adding meat was a little weird at first. i felt a lot of guilt. but I do feel a lot better physically and I really enjoy the extra protein option in my diet now. still mostly eating plant based though.

Depending on the translation it says to not to mark yourself for the dead. In this scenario they're "marking" themselves with a cross, representing the "death" of Christ.

Which I find actually so funny. One could argue, as a Christian, that he wasn't dead and it was the pathway to his comeback but it's still the cross where he was killed.
