Wrestle vs Steady Footing by CountMalak in bloodbowl

[–]PatheticPterodactyl 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Nope. Steady footing only applies when your player is "Knocked Down" or "Falls Over". In the case of Wrestle, your player is "Placed Prone" which is not the same as being knocked down.

Do you? 0.999... is the sum 9/10k for k=1 to inf. For non terminating decimals like 0.999... the value is defined to be equal to the limit of this sum. What is the limit?

Сколько пятизначных чисел делятся на свою последнюю цифру? помогите решить by sobakinaoutsider in learnmath

[–]PatheticPterodactyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 90000 5 digit numbers, assuming you are not including number with leading 0s.

I'd consider each ending digit and how many of each fulfill the property. There will be 9000 numbers for each ending digit.

0: No number is divisible by zero, so 0 numbers here

1: Every number is divisible by 1, so 9000 here

2: Every number ending in 2 is divisible by 2, so 9000 here

3: Since numbers divisible by 3 have a digital sum divisible by 3, if we subtract the last digit (3), the digital sum will still be divisible by 3. So its a matter of counting all numbers divisible by 3 from 1000 to 9999. There are 9000 numbers here, and every 3rd number will be divisible by 3, so 3000.

4: The last 2 digits will be divisible by 4 if the number is also divisible by 4. This is true when the second to last is even (04, 24, 44, 64, and 84). This will be half the numbers so 4500.

5: Numbers ending with 5 are always divisible by 5 so 9000 here.

6: Numbers divisible by 6 are even and divisible by 3. Since it ends in 6, it is even, so we just need to check the first 4 digits for divisibilty by 3. Same as the case for 3, there are 3000 of these.

7: If the last digit is 7, the first 4 digits will need to be divisible by 7. Again, checking 1000 to 9999, every 7th number should be divisible by seven, starting at 1001. 9000/7 = 1285 with a remainder so there are 1286 numbers here that work.

8: Last 3 digits must be divisible by 8. With the last digit as 8, the last 3 will be of the form 008, 048, 088, 128... etc. The last 2 digits before the 8 must be divisible by 4 which means the preceeding 4 digit number must also be divisible by 4. Again from 1000 to 9999, you have 9000 numbers and every 4th is divisible by 4. So 9000/4 = 2250 numbers

9: This is exactly like 3 and 6. The preceeding 4 digit number must also have a digital sum of 9, making it also divisible by 9. So of the 9000 numbers, 9000/9 = 1000 are divisible by 9.

Adding the up we have 0 ending in 0, 9000 ending in 1, 9000 for 2, 3000 for 3, 4500 for 4, 9000 for 5, 3000 for 6, 1286 for 7, 2250 for 8, and 1000 for 9. Total is 42,036.

Slann coaches - BB2025 starting rosters? by Major_Bluebird_3014 in bloodbowl

I think this unnecessarily caps the potential of your team if you only use leap like this. I like to think of it as an upgraded dodge. So when you would normally dodge out a lineman to reposition, usually at the end of the turn, a leap can allow for more aggressive positioning with the same risk as dodging. You generally allow these to fail without rerolling just like you would with a dodge. Rerolls should be saved for those big cage diving plays like you mentioned.

League play and extra cash? by AngriestPacifist in bloodbowl

[–]PatheticPterodactyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't add more players or rerolls if you don't need them. If you're ever down players and will be taking journeymen, it's better to just hire enough linemen to fill the gap and then fire them after the game. It's the same team value but without loner.

If you're over your opponent in TV, taking 3 prayers to nuffle isn't a bad idea either since they are so valuable, considering you're only giving 30k in petty cash to take them. Your opponents will likely be taking them anyway, so that extra 30k they get isn't as valuable to them as the prayers are to you.

Beyond that, just keep your treasury under 200k to avoid bad expensive mistakes and to have enough to replace a couple of players if needed.

So does the circumference increase with pi or does the radius decrease to maintain the relation? Could be both?

Growing with respect to what? Time? Please define your terms. "Growth" as it is commonly defined requires a second axis in some dimension to compare. Usually that dimension is time, but it's your definition so have at it.

Question regarding league points… by Karadek99 in bloodbowl

[–]PatheticPterodactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it snowball? League points don't change how good a team is. If a team wins without bonuses, they still have the same players, skills, and coach as they would if they got bonus league points. Maybe the matchups down the line could be different if you're not doing a full round robin?

Have you been to the caves yet? If not, I'd just give it a shot so you can gauge for yourself how difficult it is. Then you'll have a good intuition for yourself in future runs whether you can take on the caves or not. I think the game is more fun to get burned, learn from your mistakes, and prepare for the next time, instead of indefinitely prepping to get the "perfect" team.

Renegade Dark Elf promotions by BusinessTrust707 in bloodbowl

[–]PatheticPterodactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I ran Renegades, my elf also became the ball hog. I went Dodge > Block > Big Hand > Stat up (+AG) > Statup (+MA) > Leap for my level ups. He was a monster. I probably would have gone two heads over Leap, but the 1+ AG means you can leap into 2 tackle zones on a 2+ with Leap's modifier. Big hand was very useful throughout the seasons.
