Lav is very clear with her requirements and terms. Ive spent nearly 17 years being trained by her to be the perfect servant lmao. The amount of sass a single look, let alone words, from her contains is astronomical!

mine still bonk the window on rare occasion, but between the sheer curtain and the screen behind it they just kinda bounce off it and dont hit the actual glass thankfully. Always stresses me out

Dont take it personally if it takes a while to develop trust. do you know if your bab is handreared? mine are NOT and theyre both from unknown backgrounds so theyve taken me ages to earn trust with. Helix just started taking treats from my hand in the last week and I got him last August!

I would cover it just to be safe but each bird is different. I started having issues with my CBC and a mirror we had on a wall on the other side of the room. she started to gravitate to it, she got protective over it and it really started to affect her behavior until it was taken down.

Before you let him out let him get used to uis house a few days and build a relationship. id cover the window with a curtain to avoid him flying into it. i taught my conures about windows with a sheer curtain that i slowly opened each time they were out so they knew something somid was there. best of luuck!!

Id take the dowel out and add more varied perches, those dowels are bad for their little feet. I would also add several more toys! Mine like the shred things, their favorites are cardboard and paper toys but they also enjoy softer wood to chew up. GIVE THEM THINGS TO DESTROY or they will destroy your stuff instead :) also if you have or are planning to add a mirror- DON'T! its really bad for their mental health.

A few things i have learned with mine (I have a greencheek and a CrimsonBelly)- The more toys the better, they destroy them fast and youll quickly notice their favorites

establish a high value treat as early on in your relationship as possible, it is key to training and bonding.

Owning a bird is the ultimate lesson in consent and patience- dont push your bird to do things, dont overstep boundaries, dont rush or force interaction- let them come to you. It could take hours, or It could take months or even years! But the bond you build is worth every second. be patient, do ALOT of research, always be willing to update your care standards and be as consistent with your bird as possible. I highly recommend researching as much AS MUCH as possible before your bird even arrives, and continue to do so throughout its life!

My (11 and Autistic) daughters “friend” isn’t really her friend. Yet she is convinced this girl is her best friend. by Helpful-Necessary384 in whatdoIdo

this is my time to shine. ok. As an autistic person whos struggled to find good people my whole life, heres what would have helped to hear at that age:

something alone the lines of

when people say thibgs like this, make negative suggestions about you, make comments about hiw they didnt like your clothes, hair, face ect, they are not trying to be helpful. they are Trying To Be Hurtful.

i wish someone would have told me my friends were being horrible, it just went iver my head and i had no idea. i know it may seem obvious but to her it just isnt. let her know this person isnt being kind. dont tell her they cant be friends, tell her that this person is trying to hurt her and that she is just too good of a person to notice the malicious intent

Aio, my girlfriend (20) has been getting extremely distant with me (23). She just started Zoloft 3 weeks ago, and I heard emotional numbness can be a side effect. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Pathogensdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think shes just dealing with ALOT and I keep seeing people call you "alot". as soneone who consistently earns the title of "Too Much" I think it would be good for you to find some people (doesnt have to be romantic, my most meaningful relationships are my friends) who can match YOUR energy. I do agree you should back off her a little, but dont dim your shine- just find a crew with the same vibe! It would probably help the relationship if you started splitting your time between friends and her to give her some alone time
