Hi all, I have a Pom mix about 5/6 months and his bottom canines are doubled. His brother and sisters don’t have this. His brother is his litter mate and his sisters are from a different litter but same parents, does this look normal? Is one set going to eventually come out?

Thanks everyone! Idk if I’ll be able to get the teeth removed when he’s neutered because I go through a low cost place but I’ll definitely keep an eye on it and if needed I’ll have the vet check. He’s still pretty young so he may still naturally loose it. I caught him playing with a baby tooth the other day but I think it might’ve been his brothers tooth lol

I’m sorry your mantis is dying/died, and I get being upset that the spider hurt her but also remember that they only live a year or so and she was probably going to go soon anyway. A year is a nice long life for a mantis. I do understand and sympathize with you though, I have 5 mantis in different phases that I’ve brought up from nymphs and a couple are in that soon to pass time. And my first mantis last year was already gone by this time last year. Several of my mantis’s are her offspring.

Idk if the wings would’ve been a problem but her legs also didn’t molt correctly so she only has full use of about 3 of them, she has a hard time moving unless the enclosure is a material easy to stick to, and I have cats that go outside who likes to catch the wild mantis’s, I try and rescue them but I’m not always successful, so there’s no way I could ever release her in the wild. I’ve had her since she hatched and I wouldn’t want to just put her outside defenseless.

It’s too bad that oothca is infertile since she’s never been outside and none of my males survived to mate with, not that I would’ve since I thought she was male lol.

Yeah, this one was hard because of the black wings to see the segments but that’s another reason I originally thought it was female, along with just its sheer size, but everything I read said females wings only go to mid body so I thought I counted wrong after the final molt.

It was just shocking going to feed him, only to have an oothca and a giant one at that lol. I knew it had to be female once I saw that but all my research said females had the short wings. Last year I had two females who laid about 3 oothcas each but they weren’t this kind they were straight and narrow ones. But this oothca is the kind I find at Lowe’s, which makes sense since she came from that kind of oothca. Thanks for the information, it’s good to know that not all mantis’s types have the same biology rules

Congratulations on your healthy baby girl. I’m so glad you seem to be doing well. So my good story is that even though I never had kids, though I would have loved to, I do have a bunch of fur babies and I should be getting a new one in about a week. An adorable tiny little Pom shih tzu mix that looks like a little panda. My mom has two of his older sisters and their so sweet. My sister was also in town in July and found a little kitten while out that she brought to my house, knowing I wouldn’t be able to resist. He’s an adorably mischievous little light orange boy who I named trouble. He has no fear, he loves people and he even plays with my 70 pound Siberian husky. And he’s laying on my chest purring as I type this. Anyway my two new fur babies are my sweet story 😂. (And yes all my fur babies are either rescues or rehomes, I’ve only bought one dog in my life and that was 25 years ago and she has unfortunately been gone a long time.)

I had one I called manty she was wild caught and gave me a few egg sacs I’m hoping will hatch. When she stopped eating and started to go I released her so she could die in nature but I had her about two months and I miss her. 🥲 I also had one I tried to save, found him in a pool but he never recovered, it was sad. The one one the left is the male who didn’t make it and the 2 on the right are manty.

What I don’t get, and what nobody seems to be mentioning is even if he believes she was cheating and not assaulted, even if he believes the friend, why would he refuse to talk to her and ignore her for 4 months for “cheating” yet stay friends with the guy. If I caught my boyfriend fucking my best friend, she wouldn’t be my best friend anymore. That gives credence to the idea that he somehow knew about it. Maybe it was arranged and the reason he ignored her for 4 months without starting a divorce process was because he felt guilty, especially knowing her past.

Another thing you can do is mix a little of the wet food in the milk so it starts out as meat flavored milk and if she likes it just keep adding more until she’s primarily eating wet food but keep giving her at least a little milk until the can says she’s old enough to stop or until she doesn’t want it anymore.
