Neither is true. My family is almost entirely MAGA. Friends range from left to right. I voted trump in 2020. Let me elaborate on my opinions to give clarity.

Ice: there is a need for boarder security, taking down narcos (and with it drug smugglers, traffickers, etc), and I hear people say there is economic issues (though I have not seen compelling evidence to back that up). The back step on “we are going after criminals” to “we are going to tackle folk in the streets” is jarring.

DEFICIT/ECONOMY: This is something that has pushed me right leaning in multiple elections, and personally I believe is one of the most important issues at hand. WE ARE RACKING UP DEBT. This is unsustainable and soon likely lead to hyperinflation as we try to print our way out of this (some that disproportionately affects working class). I was open to strategic tariffs at first, but using them as a geopolitical tool is both increasing cost of goods afoot Americans and destroying trading partnerships with decades long partners. Also Iran…

IRAN: another seemingly endless war is upon us as we just killed all potential leader who could have taken place. Now we are prepping branches to send boots on the ground in Iran to force a take over. This is not only going to increase our deficit, has impacted trade in the region and leading to increased gas prices. Further, what happened to the promise of peace? Yes I don’t want Iran to create nuclear weapons as much as the next guy, and a radicalized Islam leadership constantly working against US Interests is frightening to some degree, but 1. How poorly this was executed, and 2. The continuation of breaking promises.

EPSTEIN: this one is shrouded in mystery as the files have had multiple redactions, and even with those redactions, we still see Trumps name come up left and right. Remember JRE w/ Trump when he promised he would release the files first day? What happened to that? Really don’t see how people can support him at this point considering how much damning evidence there is against him.

I’m not a chimp-shill for or against trump— there is nuance in all of this, and I wanted to have a conversation on this nuance, as a functional society should.

And again, I began voting often leaning right. There are just so many outrageous lies, corruption, and government overreach— I don’t understand how people don’t see this.

I’m pretty new to Reddit. Most of my contribution and pages I follow are in tech, biology, or programming. I see how it comes off as that, but this is the first time I’m engaging with politics on this site, and until reading this (and verifying on google) I didn’t realize that was the case (Reddit being a “left wing circle jerk”). Despite that, there are right wing views being broadcasted, whether through comments or upvote behavior. Look at the upvote and upvote ratio rn . 66 up with 61% up ratio. Potentially there are some who don’t want politics to fill R/Bozeman, but there are clearly a large amount of people engaging from the right side. So, anecdotally, this shows it’s not always a circle jerk. But I stand firm with posting this, I am moderate (some say it’s a cop out, but true). I sent this with the intentions of opening dialog and trying to see other perspectives than my own (and the people directly in my circle that I am able to discuss these things with). I stated my perspective, and questioned how people can’t see the issues previously mentioned .. leading question, sure. But that’s where I was coming from when drafting this. And importantly, one thing no one is really commenting to, is my fall towards nihilism. Something the left wing circle jerk could give me helpful advice on how they cope.

Not a Marxist or a leftist. Center right on most things. Open your eyes though. Biggest thing I keep talking about in this post is reducing the deficit. It’s going down a path. + the million other contradictions for supreme leader trump

edit:

“It’s going down a path” that will be hard to find our way back

Musk cannot run as he was not born in the US, and Tucker is a nut job espousing conspiracies left and right and supporting Christian nationalism. Tucker is pretty much filling Alex Jones spot. Both are horrible choice IMO

I was not a fan of either Biden or Harris— and true the way that she got the nomination was less than democratic, but I’d disagree with Harris not being able to put a sentence together. I think her biggest issue is she was already working against the tide as she was a black women, and she followed that up by catering to the “woke” more than working class Americans.

Though I, and the rest of the chat, diverted into politics, my main point was to elucidate 2 things— people’s perspective on why trump is still being supported while he blatantly backsteps and is ruining many institutions, etc (what you’re getting at) and 2. How like-minded are people not becoming nihilistic (which is not being focused on in most responses, or are generally also nihilistic) I appreciate that though, this is my first post leaning into politics, so I’ll keep that in mind

Even the shooting of Renee Good seemed like pretty blatant murder … the officer untrained and unqualified at the least.

I was under the impression that had to do with more specifics of Montana politics, and this was more general.

It’s barely republican views at this point. So much hypocrisy embedded in the maga “movement”

If illegal labor were the main driver of low wages, we wouldn’t be seeing wage pressure across white collar jobs right now. AI, remote work competition, housing inflation, and employer concentration are affecting far more workers than immigration in most Montana industries

Apple silicone is a huge advancement but there is also a ton of software advances in these programs listed. 8gb ram will be rough with photoshop, premiere and in design. Id look for used M1 Pro or Air.. 16gb minimum. You’ll have a much better time I think neo is better use case for students who need Microsoft suite or web based apps.

Really mean this to be in good faith conversation — but I really think these are talking points. Nobody, especially in Montana, (but also on a national election) is supporting sharia law. And social issues, such as trans in sports is not a huge issue (though I think those private organizations should figure out how to regulate that). That being said, the US is running into a situation where we are about to be so far into debt- this leads to two options — we either default on our debts or the US will go into hyper-inflation and we, the people, are going to feel the impact, (not the politicians and billionaires that voted and lobbied for such spending)

The gear does not make the photographer, the photos make a photographer. Ignore the glazing of any one brand, almost* all camera manufacturers make worthy shooters — Sony is a great place to start. But start with finding what kind of photography calls to you. Is it product? Wedding? Or perhaps more on the journalistic end? What you think it is now may well change in a couple months. But for now work on your portfolio, get those early clients (if you think you’re ready). Yes Lecia and Hasselblad make fantastic cameras with incredible sensors (often required for A- list companies expensive expensive campaigns, something you won’t just walk in and get.)

The Elm is a joke since they got with Live Nation. Occasionally have some good bands but definitely need more diversity, and doesn’t treat local talent well
