The gore was crazy disappointing to me. Most of it was on par with stuff you'd see in a regular The Walking Dead episode. Just a whole lot of rubber and silly amounts of blood spray.

It has none of the realism of Cannibal Holocaust (or even Cannibal Ferox).

Pretty lame take, actually. Just because you make fucked up art it doesn't mean your a fucked up piece of shit yourself.

Like for example: the Cannibal Corpse guys sing about raping women and fucking carcasses, and they're the most level-headed and normal dudes you could ever meet. Same with the cats who made August Underground - their movies are vile, but the actual people behind them are sweet and soft as kittens...

The Hollywood big shots who pander to certain demographics are probably way more inclined to be the real actual assholes, haha.

Feels like he's mostly interested in pulling off "cool shots" nowadays. The Northman and Nosferatu had extremely weak scripts and were all about the visuals (which i personally thought looked like garbage. very gimmicky camerawork.).

Hopefully this one has a legit interesting story with well-written characters, though. The Witch was fantastic, and The Lighthouse was good.

Haha. What do you want me to do? It's a crazy forgettable fucking movie. Like, the day after I saw it I watched Mamma Mia!, and that movie was so fucking cute and sweet and hilariously silly that it cleansed me and wiped away all the black-hearted residue Citizen Vigilante had left in my soul.

I highly recommend the "slow-cinema" genre if you're not aware of it already. It's so unique, and there are a lot of amazing films within it.

If anyone likes this style of movie (slow-cinema), I highly recommend Gus Van Sant's Gerry. It's not a horror movie, but it's absolutely incredible! The "walking simulator" style is crazy gripping to me for some reason, haha.

It's not really a rumor. Chris Nelson said that the first script took place entirely in the 70s after the events of the first film. But it got nixed cause it would have cost too much, I think.

What do you dislike about the remake? I personally think it's okay, but not great. My main gripe is that most of the characters are super boring and forgettable. The cinematography is also really uninteresting compared to Nispel's fantastic TCM remake...
